GR Field Renamed From " Grant Number " to " Grants and Funding "
​The GR field in PubMed has been renamed from"Grant Number" to"Grants and Funding" anda new section about grants and funding has been added to the PubMed User Guide. These updates to the field name and supporting documentation are being made to increase the overall transparency of funding information in PubMed. Proximity Searching Now Available for Affiliation Search Field

" Sort by " Moved Out of Display Options for Quick Access

Lengthy author lists truncated in search results
​PubMed has been updated to streamline the display of lengthy author lists in search results. When viewing search results in the Summary display format, author lists are now truncated after 1,200 characters followed by an ellipsis (…) and a link to"See abstract for full author list". In practice, this change applies to citations with approximately 100 or more authors, or around .01% of citations in the PubMed database. (Source: PubMed New and Noteworthy)

Journal Filter Category Renamed

Favorites Button Updated to Collections Button
​The Collections button has the same functionality as Send to: Collections. Send to: Collections will continue to be available in PubMed with no changes. The change from a Favorites button to Collections button was made to provide the same functionality and user experience in both PubMed and PMC. It will also be added to article pages in PMC soon. Users can still add an item to their Favorites using the Collections button, as"Favorites" is the default selection when using the Collections button-- just hit Enter or click"Add" and the citation will be added to Favorites. Updated PubMed E-utilities
​PubMed will be moving to an updated version of the E-utilities  API on November 15, 2022. As previously announced, this updated version of E-utilities will use the same technology as the web version of PubMed released in 2020. Journals Search Improvement
?The PubMed journals translation table has been updated to include journal names without initial articles such as: the, le, la, a, an, etc. This means that such journal titles can now be searched with or without initial articles and they will map to the appropriate journal.? MEDLINE 2022 Initiative: Transition to Automated Indexing
​As part of the efforts of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to transform and accelerate biomedical discovery and improve health and health care, we are transitioning to automated MeSH indexing of MEDLINE citations in PubMed. Automated indexing will provide users with timely access to MeSH in dexed metadata and allow NLM to scale MeSH indexing for MEDLINE to the volume of published biomedical literature. Updates on PubMed and NLM Catalog Filters and Subsets
​In April, NLM announced selected queries will no longer be updated. As these queries are no longer updated, the associated filters were removed from PubMed. In early December, the associated filters and subsets will be removed from the PubMed and NLM Catalog indexes during NLM’s activities. Aft er the Year-End-Processing update, these filters and subsets will no longer work when searched in PubMed or NLM Catalog as part of a query, such as: aids[sb], or jsubsetn.
