Funding Tip 6 – Review the Criteria
How do you know what makes a good funding proposal? A proposal might be very well-written, but it won’t get funded if it doesn’t meet the review criteria of the funding agency. At the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region, we try to be very transparent in how we critique funding applications. The review team, consisting of NNLM MAR staff and outside reviewers, read each application carefully. NNLM Wikipedia Edit-a-thon
Are you interested in improving the consumer health information available on Wikipedia? Do you want to utilize your librarian research skills towards making Wikipedia a better, evidence-based resource? Have you always wanted to participate in an edit-a-thon? HSLANJ Spring 2018 Group Licensing Offer
All medical librarians in a 20-state area including the NNLM’s Middle Atlantic (MAR), Southeastern/Atlantic (SE/A), and New England (NER) Regions are welcome to participate in the technology-sharing, cost-cutting consortium organized by the non-profit Health Sciences Library Association of New Jersey’s Group Licensing Initiative (HSLANJ GLI).

Funding Tip 5 – Check out previously funded projects
It’s been two weeks since the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region, issued Requests for Proposals. With the funding deadline less than a month away (04/13/2018 11:00pm), it’s time to decide on a project idea for which to pursue funding.
A great source of ideas is NNLM’s database of previously funded projects. Here, you can view projects from all around the country. The top filters let you limit by Beneficiaries (e.g. Health Professionals – Nurses), Organization Type (e.g. Public Library), or Target Population (e.g. Hispanics/Latinos).

National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Region, will publish our annual Requests for Proposals (RFPs) on March 2, 2018. Even if you have applied or received funding in the past, you will notice some differences from previous years. It’s important to read through the entire RFP before starting to write.
