Overview
People with obstructive sleep apnea who haven ’t found relief may benefit from a new pacemaker-like device that keeps the airway open during sleep. When other options have failed, “this treatment has allowed us to achieve a whole new level of success,” said Matthew Ellison, MD, an otolaryngologist at Duke, the first center in North Caroli na to implant the Inspire hypoglossal nerve stimulator system.
