Does psychology professor who have bme degree count as science letter?
Hi guys, So I'm currently working in a neuroscience lab in the psychology department and took Biospychology and Human Brain function with my PI. However, she's under the Integrative Neuroscience of Psychology Department and she also has a BME degree and PHD in psychology. Even though the classes are under the psychology department, they are really heavy in biology. Would she count as a science letter? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

College as premed in engineering major
So I'm joining college this fall, at a mid-tier UC. I plan on being an engineering major (BME, but may change to ChemE or Materials Science) . I also plan on the premed track, although I am not entirely sure about med school just yet. Will most probably take a couple of years off after undergrad to work, then apply to med schools (if that is still my end goal) Am also playing around with the idea of a double major (prob in neurosci/cognitive sci areas). I also want to have a part-time job.... College as premed in engineering major (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Let me tell you how much of a relief it is to finally get this thing over with! I was pretty nervous the day before the test, something I usually don't get nervous for. But I was excited for the day to finally come. Thats a good indication to know your truly ready. Heres a little bit of background info...I tutor organic chemistry, and I am a TA for Human anatomy and Neuroanatomy, with a 3.9 science Gpa. So before going into this I had some high expectations for the sciences. Math background... 22 PAT 23 TS 23 AA another DAT BREAKDOWN! (7/11/16) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pre Med in Community College
So I'm fairly new here so I am very sorry if a similar thread to this has already been made. I'm about to start my freshman year of college. I decided to start in community college due to my financial situation and also my mental health. Community college is by far the best option for me at the time but I worry that it will put me in a disadvantage when I begin to apply to medical school. I am planning to get an Associates in science and I have already chosen my courses: Intro to Psych, pre... Pre Med in Community College (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should scientific research publications be listed separately?
I have 2 published papers on neuroepigenomic mechanisms of brain disorders, should these be listed individually in the activities/work section? I may have up to 3 or 4 more by the time I submit my application, but this would of course take up a tremendous amount of space that I could use for other activities that may arguably be as useful if not more important than some of the papers. Any advice on how to best approach this? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I have to graduate early and I can't finish my premed courses in undergrad!HELP
I have weird circumstances. I am running out of undergraduate money. I had to switch up my major just to graduate in time. I choose a non science field (had to pick something I was interested in) so I am a sociology major minor in urban education (may have to drop due to me having to graduate so early. Since I am running out of money I can't finish my pre med course (I have done physics 1 and 2, Chem 1 and 2 and biology) I may be able to fit my calculus in to finish my math but I don't have... In neurology residency do you learn more basic neuroscience, or just how to manage neuro disease?
This might seem like a strange question, but I got into science and medicine specifically because I love learning about the brain and how it works (especially the neuropsychological and consciousness aspects). I'm pretty sure I want to go into neurology at this point (I'm finishing up MS2) mostly because it is the field I find most intellectually stimulating, but I also find many of the diseases interesting and like the practice options. However, I'm wondering if a career in neurology will... In neurology residency do you learn more basic neuroscience, or just how to manage neuro disease? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
