Will I get into SUNY Optometry?
I am a junior Neuroscience major. I decided that I wanted to become an optometrist this past fall semester. I went to a community college as a freshman where I took biology and chemistry and starting my sophomore year I began to attend school at a high ranked 4-year university.
My overall GPA is about a 3.3 and my science GPA is about a 3.19.

Poastbacc when UG gpa is 2.89?
Hello all !
So I received my B.A in Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley with an overall gpa of 2.89. I have always been interested in neuroscience, the brain, and sleep. I took a lot of courses in psychology, some math, and some programming. At the time I believed I wanted to become a clinical psychologist so I prepared myself more to go into grad school and pursue just that.
After some internships and working in the mental health field, I realized I wanted to pursue something more scientific...

Physician-Scientist dream... what should be done? Residency/PhD/Fellowship?
Hi!
I'm a 2nd year medical student in a tough spot. I want to have a future doing translational research / clinical on spinal cord injury repair and neural plasticity - a post-neurology fellowship offered in very limited locations.
Now I am left to decide a few options:
A) The neurorehabilitation/plasticity fellowship I'm looking to sub-specialize in is extremely limited in options. Should I do my neurology residency at the same place where the fellowship is available? - the fellowship I...

Should I be on the lookout for more non-clinical extracurriculars?
Hi all,
I'm currently a second-semester freshman Indiana University, and I was wondering if I should start making an effort to find some non-clinical/science extracurriculars and volunteering. I'm currently a Spanish BA/Neuroscience BS double major with a minor in creative writing, and I got a 4.0 last semester. My extracurriculars are working in a neuroscience lab 10 hours a week, volunteering at a local free clinic 2.5 hours a week as a receptionist and Spanish interpreter, and being an...

Occupational Therapy to Medical School
Hello!
I've been browsing this site for a while now, and would like some advice on my current situation.
Thank you!
I graduated in 2016 from a pre-med/Neurobiology program with a 3.8 GPA and 3.76 science GPA.
I have always had the desire to go to medical school but felt that I could never get in. So I shadowed and was accepted into an OT program. I really like and respect OT but being in the program is making me realize how much I truly love medicine. I'm not going to list all of the...

What are my Chances?
Hi, I am halfway through my junior year and I plan to take the MCAT in May 2018. I have a 3.91 cumulative GPA and a 3.86 science GPA. I am going to study really hard for the MCAT but it would be nice to know the range I should be aiming for with my current GPA. Also a question on the MCAT, will I be able to apply on time if I take it in May, since the score comes out mid June? Thank you in advance!
