Overexpression of Rhodiola crenulata glutathione peroxidase 5 increases cold tolerance and enhances the pharmaceutical value of the hairy roots
In this study, we investigated the role of GPX5 in Rhodiola crenulata's cold tolerance mechanisms. By overexpressing Rhodiola crenulata GPX5 (RcGPX5) in yeast and Arabidopsis thaliana, we observed down-regulation of Arabidopsis thaliana GPX5 (AtGPX5) and increased cold tolerance in both organisms. Furthermore, the levels of antioxidants and enzyme activities in the ascorbate-glutathione cycle were elevated, and cold-responsive genes such as AtCBFs and AtCORs were induced. Additionally, RcGPX5 overexpressing lines showed insensitivity to exogenous abscisic acid (ABA), suggesting a negative regulation of the ABA pathway by R...

Text mining of hypertension researches in the west Asia region: a  12-year trend analysis
Ren Fail. 2024 Dec;46(1):2337285. doi: 10.1080/0886022X.2024.2337285. Epub 2024 Apr 14.ABSTRACTMore than half of the world population lives in Asia and hypertension (HTN) is the most prevalent risk factor found in Asia. There are numerous articles published about HTN in Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMRO) and artificial intelligence (AI) methods can analyze articles and extract top trends in each country. Present analysis uses Latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) as an algorithm of topic modeling (TM) in text mining, to obtain subjective topic-word distribution from the 2790 studies over the EMRO. The period of checked studie...

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum surface-displayed VP6 (PoRV) protein can prevent PoRV infection in piglets
Int Immunopharmacol. 2024 Apr 13;133:112079. doi: 10.1016/j.intimp.2024.112079. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPorcine rotavirus (PoRV) poses a threat to the development of animal husbandry and human health, leading to substantial economic losses. VP6 protein is the most abundant component in virus particles and also the core structural protein of the virus. Firstly, this study developed an antibiotic-resistance-free, environmentally friendly expression vector, named asd-araC-PBAD-alr (AAPA). Then Recombinant Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (L. plantarum) strains induced by arabinose to express VP6 and VP6-pFc fusion proteins...

Health risk assessment of heavy metal pollutants in Iranian hen eggs: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2024 Apr 15. doi: 10.1007/s11356-024-33211-2. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTEggs are a high-quality, nutrient-dense source of protein that is available at a relatively low price and the contamination of eggs by heavy metals is an important issue in public health. This review aimed to assess the risk of heavy metal pollutants in Iranian hen eggs. Original full-text available studies in Iran, detecting levels of Pb, Cd, As, and Hg in whole or part of the egg, and published between January 2000 and March 2023 were selected based on the inclusion criteria. The random-effect model was used to estimat...

Temporal characteristics and health effects related to NO < sub > 2 < /sub > , O < sub > 3 < /sub > , and SO < sub > 2 < /sub > in an urban area of Iran
This study reports on temporal variations of NO2, O3, and SO2 pollutants and their related health effects in urban air of Khorramabad, Iran using AirQ 2.2.3 software. Based on data between 2015-2021, hourly NO2, O3, and SO2 concentrations increase starting at 6:00 AM local time until 9:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 7:00 PM local time, respectively, before gradually decreasing. The highest monthly NO2, O3, and SO2 concentrations are observed in October, August, and September, respectively. Annual median NO2, O3, and SO2 concentrations range between 17 ppb - 38.8 ppb, 17.5 ppb - 36.6 ppb, and ∼14 ppb - 30.8 ppb, respectively. Two to...
