CMS thinks I received money from big pharma during residency.
I just discovered that I received, without my knowledge, over $18,000 from drug and medical device companies. CMS believes I got food, travel, speaking/consulting fees... while I was a resident! I looked up some of my co-residents, but the results were inconsistent. Some received money like I allegedly did, while others didn't even show up. Clearly, somebody at CMS messed up big time. But it's too late for me. Apparently, you have to dispute the information within the same year it's posted... CMS thinks I received money from big pharma during residency. Medical Device
Question for the inventors of SDN: I have an idea for a medical device. It’s relatively simple, and I think it would have significant commercial value... That being said, I have virtually no experience with fabrication, biomedical engineering, patent law, etc. Anyone have any relevant experience or advice? To those who have applied for patents, any tips on the process? Worth it to get a patent lawyer, or is it something I can navigate myself and save a few grand? I do work for an academic... Penn vs Columbia vs WashU vs Ohio State (Full tuition)
Hey everyone! I’ve had a fantastic application cycle and I couldn’t be more grateful to have such great options for med school. I’m interested in pursuing interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, or neurosurgery. I’m also interested in getting into medical device development down the road while primarily being a clinician (I’m an engineering major). On the financial side, my family qualifies for very little to no need-based aid, and my parents are willing to cover CoA for one... Wait or reapply?
I had an unsuccess first attempt (not completely done yet) and am trying to weigh options for next cycle. MCAT: 517 GPA 3.65 Graduated last semester (3.5 years) from a highly ranked BME undergraduate program. Very involved in medical device research but only have one paper and it was not a first-author paper. Moderate clinical volunteering experience I got either rejected or never heard back (17) or waitlisted/alternate (3). Need an honest opinion on: 1. Should I re-apply for the... Wait or reapply?
