Removal of mercury(II) from wastewater using a new and effective composite: sulfur-coated magnetic carbon nanotubes.
Abstract A sulfur-coated magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotube (S-M-MWCNT) composite was synthesized via coating a thin S layer on M-MWCNTs via a facile heating process. The prepared superparamagnetic adsorbent was employed for the uptake of mercury(II) (Hg(II)) from aqueous solutions and then magnetically separated without filtration or centrifugation steps. Chemical fractionation and risk assessment of trace elements in sewage sludge generated from various states of Pakistan.
This study was aimed to explore the potential and risks associated with sewage sludge through the characterization and fractionation technique. Sewage sludge samples were collected from various wastewater treatment in five different cities of Pakistan. The results showed that an increase in alkalinity to 150 mg/L (calculated as CaCO3) by the addition of NaHCO3 significantly promoted the activity of the Fe&amp;ndash;Mn co-oxide. Antiepileptic effects of cobalt, manganese and magnesium on bicuculline-induced epileptiform activity in hippocampal neurons.
DISCUSSION: All tree inorganic calcium channel blockers were able to suppress EFP in a dosage dependent and reversible manner. Weak reappearance of EFP after washout of Co2+ might be due to additional cytotoxic effects.
