Role of GAC-MnO2 catalyst for triggering the extracellular electron transfer and boosting CH4 production in syntrophic methanogenesis
This study proposed a strategy to boost the CH4 production by adding granular activated carbon (GAC)-MnO2 nanocomposites into an anaerobic methanogenic system. The associated mechanisms and the microbial community structure during anaerobic digestion were investigated systematically. Effects of Excess Manganese on the Oxidative Status, and the Expression of Inflammatory Factors and Heat Shock Proteins in Cock Kidneys.
This study examined the effects of chronic exposure to manganese chloride (MnCl2) on various biochemical indices of inflammatory cytokines, antioxidant enzymes, and heat shock proteins (HSPs) in the kidneys of Hy-line cocks. The exposures were carried out using 600, 900, or 1800 mg/kg doses of MnCl2 administered for periods of 30, 60, and 90 days. Removing arsenic from water with an original and modified natural manganese oxide ore: batch kinetic and equilibrium adsorption studies.
In this study, a low-cost manganese oxide ore from Vietnam (Vietnamese manganese oxide (VMO)) was firstly evaluated for its performance in arsenate (As(V)) removal from water. This material contains both Mn (25.6%) and Fe (16.1%) mainly in the form of cryptomelane and goethite minerals. In this study, we have determined that ZIP8 and ZIP14 (Zrt- and Irt-like proteins 8 and 14) support Mn2+ uptake by BMVECs and that neither DMT1 nor an endocytosis-dependent pathway play any significant role in Mn2+ uptake.
