Unrecorded alcohol consumption in Lithuania: a modelling study for 2000 –2021
AbstractThe aim of the study was to estimate unrecorded alcohol consumption in Lithuania for the period 2000 –2021 using an indirect method for modelling consumption based on official consumption data and indicators of alcohol-related harm. Methodology employed for estimating the unrecorded alcohol consumption was proposed by Norström and was based on the country’s 2019 European Health Interview Surve y and indicators of fully alcohol-attributable mortality. The proportion of unrecorded alcohol consumption was estimated as 8.30% (95% CI 7.7–8.9%) for 2019 in Lithuania. The estimated total (recorded and unrecorded) a...

Spoligotyping of Mycobacterium tuberculosis - Comparing in vitro and in silico approaches
Infect Genet Evol. 2023 Sep 25:105508. doi: 10.1016/j.meegid.2023.105508. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSpoligotyping is one of the molecular typing methods widely used for exploring the genetic variety of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The aim of this study was to compare the spoligoprofiles of M. tuberculosis clinical isolates, obtained using in vitro and in silico approaches. The study included 230 M. tuberculosis isolates, recovered from Poland and Lithuania between 2018 and 2021. Spoligotyping in vitro was performed with a commercially available kit. Whole genome sequencing (WGS) was done with Illumina NovaSeq 6000 seque...
