ConMed closes $365m Buffalo Filter buy
ConMed (NSDQ:CNMD) said today that it closed its $365 million acquisition of Buffalo Filter from the Filtration Group.
Buffalo Filter develops and produces surgical smoke evacuation technologies, including smoke evacuation pencils, smoke evacuators and laparoscopic solutions, ConMed said.
Utica, N.Y.-based ConMed said that it funded the transaction through a combination of convertible notes and an expanded and amended credit facility.
Last month, ConMed priced a debt offering worth $300 million, saying it plans to use the proceeds to pay down some of its hedges and to cover the cost of an acquisition.

Bolder Surgical, formerly known as JustRight Surgical, said today that it raised $27 million in a new round of financing to support its laparoscopic surgical devices.

TransEnterix wins FDA clearance for Senhance Ultrasonic
TransEnterix (NYSE:TRXC) said today that it won 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its Senhance Ultrasonic instrument system, designed to operate with its Senhance robot-assisted surgery device.

I am a worrier (a phrase that you will see later became relevant !) – it’s in my nature, so you can imagine what something as significant as a sub-total abdominal hysterectomy did to the worrying part of my brain. Having said that, I was relatively calm (for me) in the weeks leading up to the surgery. I’m not sure why; maybe because I knew it was needed.
