Kleine-Levin Syndrome (KLS) is an extremely rare sleep disorder that can take years to be diagnosed. One of the possible conditions that KLS can be mistaken for is bipolar disorder, and in fact, some of the same medications used to treat bipolar disorder may be prescribed for those who have KLS.
