Assessment of interactions and dosage recommendations of synthetic DMARDs-Evidence-based and consensus-based recommendations based on a  systematic literature search
Z Rheumatol. 2023 Oct 13. doi: 10.1007/s00393-023-01417-3. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTConventional synthetic (cs) and targeted synthetic (ts) disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARD) have potential interactions with a multitude of drugs. Furthermore, they sometimes have a lower therapeutic index, particularly in cases of limited organ functions. The aim of this work was to establish evidence-based recommendations on the therapeutic use of DMARDs in the context of drug interactions and dosage recommendations. A systematic literature search was carried out on the issue of drug interactions and dosages in cases of pat...

Patient-reported outcomes in German vasculitis patients-Data from the KOBRA quality project
In this study 420 patients were recruited and follow-up data were available from 302. On average, improvements were documented in all 5 dimensions of the EQ-5D, with the strongest effects in self-care and coping with activities of daily living. In the AAV-PRO, highly significant differences were seen in the domains systemic symptoms and physical functioning. Satisfaction with medical and nursing treatment was very high and did not correlate with pain level or with the AAV-PRO measures.DISCUSSION: Under zreatment patient-reported outcomes improve at least partially in vasculitis patients. Satisfaction with medical treatment...

Arthroplasty of the hand and wrist
Z Rheumatol. 2023 Oct 12. doi: 10.1007/s00393-023-01420-8. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTArthrosis and autoimmune arthritis frequently lead to major impairment of hand function. Primary therapy consists of well- tried conservative treatments and joint preserving surgical options for special indications. In advanced stages silicon spacers remain the gold standard surgical option for replacement of proximal interphalangeal and metacarpophalgeal joints of the fingers. Alternatively, surface replacement prostheses can restore the biomechanical properties of these joints more porperly. In case of the carpometacarpal (CMC) joint...
