Management of claudicants with low toe-brachial index in a Veteran population
CONCLUSION: Patients presenting with claudication and low TBI, especially with diabetes, are at a higher risk to develop chronic limb threatening ischemia. Claudicants with a low TBI should have closer follow-up and more aggressive risk factor modification to reduce long-term mortality.PMID:38588174 | DOI:10.1177/17085381241246309 (Source: Vascular)

Navigating complexity: The Supera's triumph in femoropopliteal lesions
CONCLUSIONS: The 36-month patency of the Supera stents in our real-world cohort was similar to other reported series. The GLASS stage did not interfere with the stent patency, proving it is a good choice even in the most adverse anatomy patients. Only the non-nominal stent conformation affected the primary patency rates in our patients.PMID:38588331 | DOI:10.1177/17085381241246321 (Source: Vascular)

Internal valvuloplasty combined with sleeve wrapping in the treatment of severe great saphenous vein insufficiency: A report of two cases
CONCLUSION: This surgery is safe and feasible in the treatment of early GSV incompetence, with good short-term results; long-term results remain to be seen.PMID:38581427 | DOI:10.1177/17085381241246093 (Source: Vascular)

One-staged brachial-basilic vein transposition versus arm straight arteriovenous graft for hemodialysis
CONCLUSIONS: Provided a suitable arm basilic vein is available, one-staged BBAVF is preferred over AS-AVG when forearm AVF, forearm AVG, and arm cephalic veins are out. However, it requires a longer time to start cannulating than AS-AVG.PMID:38576306 | DOI:10.1177/17085381241245068 (Source: Vascular)

Effect of gait speed on clinical outcomes after crural and pedal bypass in patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia
CONCLUSIONS: Gait speed in patients with CLTI after crural and pedal bypass was associated with survival, freedom from MACE, and graft patency but not with limb salvage and wound healing. A detailed study of walking ability in these patients may be needed in the future.PMID:38569161 | DOI:10.1177/17085381241245603 (Source: Vascular)

Vascular access route venture of the chronic hemodialysis patient: A prospective cohort study
CONCLUSION: The use of pre-emptive arteriovenous fistula for the first hemodialysis treatment occurs much less commonly than expected. Hemodialysis initiation rates with pre-emptive arteriovenous fistula lag behind nephrology outpatient follow-up rates.PMID:38569483 | DOI:10.1177/17085381241244867 (Source: Vascular)
