Publication date: January 2018 Source:Urology Case Reports, Volume 16 Author(s): Patkawat Ramart Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a common problem in women. Successful treatment is now mid urethral sling but it would be a cause of urethral obstruction. In this case report, a 50 years old woman presented with a huge introitus mass after 3 months of midurethral sling. The mass protruded from the urethra and could not be reduced. Emergency MRI of pelvis was demonstrated prolapsed ureterocele, single system of right ureter. Preoperative planning was cystoscopy and mass excision. The patient was preoperatively counseled th...

Metastatic primary testicular carcinoid tumor managed with radical orchiectomy, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection and inferior vena cava excision: Case report
We report the first case of metastatic primary testicular carcinoid tumor where along retroperitoneal lymph node dissection excision of the Inferior Vena Cava was also performed. The rarity is further emphasised by the presence of a contralateral testicular dermoid cyst. Given the features of the tumor were not in keeping with the traditional predictors of metastases (primary tumor >7.3 cm, poor differentiation and the presence of carcinoid syndrome) this case adds valuable addition to the relatively limited literature available on this rare condition. Successful Treatment with Paclitaxel, Carboplatin, and Gemcitabine as Second-line Chemotherapy for Recurrent Urothelial Carcinoma of the Bladder with Glandular Differentiation After Radical Cystectomy: A Case Report
Publication date: November 2017 Source:Urology Case Reports, Volume 15 Author(s): Hiroki Fukuhara, Hiroshi Kakizaki, Hisashi Kaneko, Takuya Yamanobe, Masaki Ushijima, Yuya Kuboki, Norihiko Tsuchiya Urothelial carcinoma of the bladder (UCB) with glandular differentiation is a histological variant (HV) that is more likely to have positive extravesical tumors or nodes than those in pure UCB. Cisplatin-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) prior to radical cystectomy (RC) is more effective for pure UCB; however, few reports are available on second-line chemotherapy for recurrence of UCB with HV. Here we report a 65-year-old Ja...

The authors describe a 28-year-old male who presented with torsion symptoms, first in the left testicle and four months later in the right testicle. Doppler ultrasound and surgical exploration revealed disruption of blood flow but no evidence of spermatic cord twisting. Additionally, physical examination...

Failure of the inflatable penile prosthesis due to abnormal folding of a low-profile reservoir – A selected case from an overall series and systematic review
We present a case from a running series of inflatable penile prosthesis failure due to improper folding of the Conceal™ reservoir. The Conceal™ Low-Profile reservoir gained popularity due to claims of improved cosmesis and ease of implantation. As the number of patients receiving this and other low-profile reservoirs increases, it is imperative to review and document any novel complications. While the Conceal™ reservoir may be preferred in ectopic placement, it may be more prone to fluid lockout facilitated by conformational change. Our review did not identify prior reports of improper folding, which we b...
