Ultrasound Diagnosis of Malformations of the Fetal Kidneys and Urinary System
This article presents the typical sonographic findings of these abnormalities during the various stages of pregnancy. Because malformations of the urogenital tract often have an association with genetic diseases/ciliopathies, these are also discussed. To complete the article, we provide a brief overview of the normal anatomy of the kidneys and urinary system. The normal anatomy and malformations of the genitalia will not be discussed in this article due to their complexity.PMID:37769695 | DOI:10.1055/a-2132-6573 (Source: Ultraschall in der Medizin)

EFSUMB Technical Review - Update 2023: Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (DCE-CEUS) for the Quantification of Tumor Perfusion
Ultraschall Med. 2023 Sep 25. doi: 10.1055/a-2157-2587. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDynamic contrast-enhanced ultrasound (DCE-US) is a technique to quantify tissue perfusion based on phase-specific enhancement after the injection of microbubble contrast agents for diagnostic ultrasound. The guidelines of the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB) published in 2004 and updated in 2008, 2011, and 2020 focused on the use of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), including essential technical requirements, training, investigational procedures and steps, guidance regarding image interpr...

Fetal Assessment in Pregnancy (Indication and Methodology for Fetal Monitoring in a low-risk Population). Guideline of the DGGG, DEGUM, OEGGG and SGGG (S3-Level, AWMF Registry No. 015/089, February 2023)
Ultraschall Med. 2023 Aug 15. doi: 10.1055/a-2113-7638. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPURPOSE: The aim of this guideline was to find evidence on whether carrying out Doppler examinations and CTGs in low-risk cohorts of pregnant women improves outcomes.METHODS: First, a systematic search for guidelines was carried out. Identified guidelines were evaluated using the DELPHI instrument of the AWMF. Three guidelines were found to be suitable to evaluate CTG. Two DEGUM best practice guidelines were judged suitable to describe the methods. All studies on this issue were additionally analyzed using 8 PICO questions. A structured...
