Posttraumatic Growth: A Comprehensive Evaluation of the Recently Revised Model.
İ Abstract For the last 30 years, the conceptualization studies of posttraumatic growth (PTG) which refer to the positive changes as a result of the struggle with adverse events, have been continuously evolving with new findings. In line with this empirical evidence, Tedeschi and colleagues have proposed a revised model in which PTG is accepted both as a process and an outcome. The roles of the concepts such as wisdom, resilience, socio-cultural factors are explained better. As the ultimate aim of the model, the authors suggest reaching the dimensions of PTG not hedonistic happiness or well-being. This new model...

A Case of Gitelman Syndrome Diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa in a Psychiatry Clinic.
Abstract Anorexia nervosa is a disorder that is characterized by excessive preoccupation with body weight and shape, and conscious attempts to stay in low weight due to fear of weight gain. Vomiting, one of the METHODS used by anorexia nervosa patients to stay in low weight, is one of the most important causes of hypokalemia. Diuretics and diarrhea are other common causes of hypokalemia. If hypokalemia is chronic and resistant to treatment, eating disorders and other metabolic conditions should be investigated. One of the rare causes of hypokalemia, an electrolyte imbalance that can cause fatal outcomes, is Gitelm...

Unexpectedly, weight loss can also be seen as a rare side effect of clozapine. The mechanism underlying clozapine induced weight loss is not clearly understood. Several factors including certain brain areas, neurotransmitters, neuropeptides and genetic variants were identified to play a role in weight loss associated with clozapine. In some patients who were reported to have a significant weight loss (13.5-50% of body weight) with clozapine, weight loss mig...

CONCLUSION: Results of the research suggested that control-focused treatment METHODS could be effective in treatment of people who had experienced earthquake and fire. It is observed that informing the public about emergency management would be protective for mental health by increasing the sense of control of the individuals at the time of the incident. On the other hand, the positive relationship between PTSD and previous knowledge on emergency suggests that the ringing alarms and practice errors during the fire and earthquake drills could traumatize people. Future research is recommended on the relationship between info...
