The Efficacy and Safety of SGLT2 Inhibitor in Diabetic Kidney Transplant Recipients
Conclusions. SGLT2i improved a composite of all-cause mortality, DCGF, or serum creatinine doubling in KTRs. SGLT2i can be used safely and have beneficial effects on preserving graft function in diabetic KTRs. (Source: Transplantation)

Matched Versus Mixed COVID-19 Vaccinations in Korean Solid Organ Transplant Recipients: An Observational Study
Background. Solid organ transplant recipients (SOTRs) are vulnerable to severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and exhibit poor antibody responses to COVID-19 vaccines. Herein, we compared the humoral immunogenicity of a mixed vaccine (ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 [ChAd]/BNT162b2 [BNT]) with that of conventional matched vaccines (mRNA, adenoviral vector [AdV-Vec]) in SOTRs. Methods. Serum samples were collected at Severance Hospital (Seoul, Korea) between September and October 2021 (14 d–5 mo after COVID-19 vaccination; V2). The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 antispike IgG titer (BAU/mL; ELISA) and neu...

Infection Risk in the First Year After ABO-incompatible Kidney Transplantation: A Nationwide Prospective Cohort Study
Conclusions. The burden of infections during the first year posttransplant was high but not relevantly different in ABOi-KT and ABOc-KT recipients. Our results highlight that concerns regarding infectious complications should not affect the implementation of ABOi-KT programs. (Source: Transplantation)

Five-year Outcome of an Early Everolimus-based Quadruple Immunosuppression in Lung Transplant Recipients: Follow-up of the 4EVERLUNG Study
Conclusions. Initiation of an early everolimus-based quadruple low CNI regimen may have no long-term benefit on renal function. The immunosuppressive efficacy and safety profile seems comparable with the standard triple regimen. (Source: Transplantation)

COVID-19 Infection With the Omicron SARS-CoV-2 Variant in a Cohort of Kidney and Kidney Pancreas Transplant Recipients: Clinical Features, Risk Factors, and Outcomes
Conclusions. Despite double or triple dose vaccination, VOC Omicron infections in kidney and kidney pancreas transplant recipients are not necessarily mild. Hospitalization rates remained high (around 56%), and sotrovimab use may prevent hospitalization. (Source: Transplantation)

Normothermic Ex Vivo Kidney Perfusion for Human Kidney Transplantation: First North American Results
Conclusions. Our study demonstrates the safety and feasibility of NEVKP for human deceased donor kidney transplantation. Further studies are warranted to explore how this technology can minimize cold ischemia, improve posttransplant graft function, and assess and repair expanded criteria kidney grafts.
