Single Cord Blood Transplantation Versus HLA-Haploidentical-related Donor Transplantation Using Posttransplant Cyclophosphamide in Patients With Hematological Malignancies
Conclusions. UCB transplant gives outcomes comparable to PTCy-haplo transplant, and both UCB and PTCy-haplo units are suitable as alternative donor sources for patients without an HLA-matched sibling or unrelated donor. (Source: Transplantation)

Effect of Pregnancy on eGFR After Kidney Transplantation: A National Cohort Study
Conclusions. The first pregnancy has a small, but insignificant, effect on eGFR slope in KTRs. Midterm hyperfiltration, a marker for renal reserve capacity, was associated with better eGFR and death-censored graft survival. In this KTR cohort with long-term follow-up, no significant effect of pregnancy on kidney function was detected. (Source: Transplantation)

Quantitative Image Analysis at Chronic Lung Allograft Dysfunction Onset Predicts Mortality
Background. Chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD) phenotype determines prognosis and may have therapeutic implications. Despite the clarity achieved by recent consensus statement definitions, their reliance on radiologic interpretation introduces subjectivity. The Center for Computer Vision and Imaging Biomarkers at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has established protocols for chest high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT)-based computer-aided quantification of both interstitial disease and air-trapping. We applied quantitative image analysis (QIA) at CLAD onset to demonstrate radiographic phenot...

Cytomegalovirus Donor Seropositivity Negatively Affects Survival After Heart Transplantation
Background. Prior studies have shown that cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is a risk factor for the development of cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV) and is associated with reduced long-term survival after heart transplantation (HTx). The aim of this International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation Transplant Registry study was to compare posttransplant survival in different CMV donor:recipient serologic combinations. Methods. We performed a retrospective cohort study, using the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation Thoracic Transplant Registry, on 15 885 adult primary heart transplan...
