Supercooling Storage for the Transplantable Sources From the Rat and the Rabbit: A Preliminary Report
It is necessary to store the transplantable sources for a certain period during the variety of manipulation processing steps. The method used to preserve (depending on conditions of solvent, temperature, periods, density, and physical impulse, etc.) can affect the safety and efficacy of the samples. Supercooling refers to a phenomenon of lowering the temperature below its freezing point without freezing. We investigated the possibility of supercooling for the preservation of cells and organs according to the limited conditions. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Distribution of Anti-ABO Immunoglobulin G Subclass and C1q Antibody in ABO-incompatible Kidney Transplantation
To investigate the correlation between serum anti-ABO immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgG subclasses, anti-ABO IgG subclasses were measured by flow cytometry (FCM) in ABO-incompatible (ABOi) kidney transplant recipients. We also evaluated baseline anti-ABO C1q antibody. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Pretransplantation Cystatin C, but not Creatinine, Predicts 30-day Cardiovascular Events and Mortality in Liver Transplant Recipients With Normal Serum Creatinine Levels
In this study, we aimed to compare cystatin C and creatinine in predicting 30-day major cardiovascular events (MACE) and all-cause mortality in LT recipients with normal serum creatinine levels. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Tacrolimus-Induced Apoptosis is Mediated by Endoplasmic Reticulum –derived Calcium-dependent Caspases-3,-12 in Jurkat Cells
We examined the effect of tacrolimus on ER-derived calcium and caspase-3,-12–mediated apoptosis on Jurkat human T lymphocyte. Tac decreased the viability of Jurkat cells in a dose-dependent manner. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Association of Platelet Count and Platelet Transfusion With Serotonin Level During Living Donor Liver Transplantation: Possible Connection to Graft Regeneration
We recently showed that platelet counts and the amount of platelet transfusion during liver transplantation are positively associated with early graft regeneration. It was hypothesized that platelet-derived serotonin mediates liver regeneration. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Factors Associated With Waiting Time to Deceased Donor Kidney Transplantation in Transplant Candidates
Although a nationwide activation system has been developed to increase deceased donor kidney transplantation (DDKT), there is still enormous discrepancy between transplant need and deceased donor supply in Korea, and therefore waiting time to DDKT is still long. We need to determine the current status of waiting time and the risk factors for long waiting time. We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of the patients on the wait list for DDKT at the Seoul National University Hospital from 2000 to 2017. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Clinical Outcomes of Kidney Transplantation in Patients With Biopsy-Proven Glomerulonephritis
The clinical outcomes after kidney transplantation (KT) according to the types of glomerulonephritis (GN) as the cause of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) are various, but there are not many studies on this. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

BK Virus Infection in Thai Kidney Transplant Recipients: A Single-Center Experience
BK virus-associated nephropathy (BKVAN) is a significant cause of allograft dysfunction and failure in kidney transplant recipients. Early detection and proper adjustment of immunosuppression is the best method for treatment of this condition and to improve long-term allograft outcome. Here, we reported the prevalence and risk factors of BK virus (BKV) infection in our population. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)

Crepidiastrum denticulatum Extract Ameliorates Kidney Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Mice
Crepidiastrum denticulatum (CD) is a well-known, traditionally consumed vegetable in Korea, which was recently reported to contain bioactive compounds with detoxification and antioxidant properties. Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is a major problem after renal transplantation. Furthermore, inflammatory responses to IRI exacerbate the resultant renal injury. In the present study, we investigated whether CD extract exhibits renoprotective effects against IR-induced acute kidney injury in mice. (Source: Transplantation Proceedings)
