Factors associated with driving under the influence of alcohol.
CONCLUSIONS: Following the development of the logistic prediction models for DUI drivers, testing of the model was conducted for 3 control driver groups: Car, motorcycle, and bicycle. The prediction model with a probability greater than 50% showed that 77% of car drivers were under the influence of alcohol. Effects of cognitive distraction on speed control in curve negotiation.
CONCLUSIONS: The impairment due to cognitive distraction was confirmed in this study but was only significant at a high level of cognitive distraction. The highly distracted drivers failed to perceive the curve in advance, resulting in a slower response to changes in the roadway. Alcohol and risky behavior in traffic among motorcyclists involved in accidents in a city in northeastern Brazil.
CONCLUSION: This study showed that, in the population studied, riding a motorcycle under the effects of alcoholic drinks was associated with other risky forms of behavior in traffic: speeding, not using a helmet, and not having a motorcycle driver's license. Deriving heart rate variability indices from cardiac monitoring-An indicator of driver sleepiness.
