Is communication key in stroke rehabilitation and recovery? National linked stroke data study
CONCLUSIONS: Two-thirds of patients with stroke require communication support to participate in healthcare activities. Establishing communication-accessible stroke care environments is a priority.PMID:37965905 | DOI:10.1080/10749357.2023.2279804 (Source: Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation)

Ataxic hemiparesis: a narrative review for clinical practice in rehabilitation
CONCLUSION: AH imposes significant challenges on stroke survivors when it comes to remediation of balance and coordination. It is associated with increased risk of mortality, stroke recurrence, and dementia. Though application of the concept of neuroplasticity and the utilization of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation have shown early promising results, further research is needed to establish the practice guidelines for rehabilitation of patients with AH.PMID:37965878 | DOI:10.1080/10749357.2023.2281722 (Source: Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation)

Development of health literacy assessment scale for Thai stroke patients
CONCLUSIONS: The Health Literacy Assessment Scale for Thai Stroke Patients (HLS-Th) is measuring five components cover all health literacy aspects necessary for Thai stroke patient. This novel measurement scale is an accurate psychometric tool for assessing the level of health literacy among Thai stroke survivors.PMID:37880193 | DOI:10.1080/10749357.2023.2275091 (Source: Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation)

Development of the Japanese version of the awareness questionnaire for assessment of self-awareness after acquired brain injury: reliability and validity
CONCLUSIONS: The Japanese version of the AQ was developed and applied to stroke patients, but the concept of post-stroke ISA may differ from ISA after traumatic brain injury, highlighting the need for a stroke-specific version of the AQ.PMID:37880195 | DOI:10.1080/10749357.2023.2271707 (Source: Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation)
