pH/Temperature Responsive Curcumin-Loaded Micelle Nanoparticles Promote Functional Repair after Spinal Cord Injury in Rats via Modulation of Inflammation
Conclusion:Here, we synthesized pH/temperature dual-sensitive Cur-NPs. While improving the bioavailability of the drug, they were also able to achieve a smart responsive release in the inflammatory microenvironment that develops after SCI. The Cur-NPs promoted the regeneration and functional recovery of nerves after SCI through anti-inflammatory effects, providing a promising strategy for the repair of SCIs. Regenerative Strategies in Treatment of Peripheral Nerve Injuries in Different Animal Models
CONCLUSION:Old surgical attempts such as neurorrhaphy, autogenic nerve transplantation, and Schwann cell implantation have a limited power of recovery in cases of large nerve defects. Stem cell therapy including mesenchymal stromal cells has a high potential differentiation capacity to renew and form a new nerve and also restore its function. Multiple Injections of Adipose-Derived Stem Cells Improve Graft Survival in Human-to-Rat Skin Xenotransplantation through Immune Modulation
Conclusion:This study presented that triple injections of ADSCs appeared to be superior to a single injection in suppressing cell-mediated xenograft rejection. The immunomodulatory effects of ADSCs are associated with the downregulation of IFN- γ and upregulation of PGES in skin xenografts and lymph nodes. Human Endometrium Derived Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Are Amenable to Directed Erythroid Differentiation
CONCLUSION:Successful directed erythroid differentiation has occurred from human endometrium-derived iPS cells. A comprehensive process of actually deriving iPS cells using discarded surgical hysterectomy specimens to the erythroid fate has significance in that the scope of using human iPSC cell lines for tissue regeneration could be expanded in the future. d-Galactose and Hypoxia Induce the Early Onset of Age-Related Hearing Loss Deterioration in a Mouse Model
Conclusion:Age-related hearing loss is an environmental disorder induced by chronic oxidative stress associated with genetic backgrounds. Our findings suggested thatd-galactose and hypoxia can induce the phenotypes of age-related hearing loss and aging-associated molecules in a murine model within a short time with environmental stimulation alone. Three-Dimensional Cell Culture System for Tendon Tissue Engineering
AbstractTendon, connective tissue between bone and muscle has unique component of the musculoskeletal system. It plays important role for transporting mechanical stress from muscle to bone and enabling locomotive motion of the body. There are some restoration capacities in the tendon tissue, but the injured tendons are not completely regenerated after acute and chronic tendon injury. At this point, the treatment options for tendon injuries are limited and not that successful. Therefore, biomedical engineering approaches are emerged to cope with this issue. Among them, three-dimensional cell culture platforms provided simil...

Various Three-Dimensional Culture Methods and Cell Types for Exosome Production
AbstractCell-based therapies have been used as promising treatments for several untreatable diseases. However, cell-based therapies have side effects such as tumorigenesis and immune responses. To overcome these side effects, therapeutic effects of exosomes have been researched as replacements for cell-based therapies. In addition, exosomes reduced the risk that can be induced by cell-based therapies. Exosomes contain biomolecules such as proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids that play an essential role in cell –cell and cell–matrix interactions during biological processes. Since the introduction of exosomes, those have ...
