B-flow/spatiotemporal image correlation M-mode ultrasound provides novel method to quantify spiral artery remodeling during normal human pregnancy
CONCLUSIONS: The present study shows that B-flow/STIC M-mode ultrasonography provides an in vivo imaging technology to digitally quantify structural/physiological expansion of the walls of the spiral arteries during the cardiac cycle as a consequence of their transformation into compliant vessels during advancing stages of normal human pregnancy. First trimester screening identifies maternal cardiac maladaptation at mid-gestation
CONCLUSION: Use of a model for first-trimester prediction of subsequent development of CH can identify women who show evidence of cardiac maladaptation at mid-gestation. Further studies are needed to clarify whether women who screen as high-risk for future CH, compared to those at low-risk, have reduced cardiac function beyond pregnancy. Validation of ADNEX and IOTA two-step strategy and estimation of risk of complications during follow-up of adnexal masses in low-risk population
CONCLUSIONS: The ADNEX model and IOTA two-step strategy performed well to distinguish benign from malignant adnexal masses detected in a low-risk population. Conservative management is safe for masses with benign ultrasound appearance in such a population. This article is protected by copyright. Assessment of fetal cardiac functions in pregnant women with anemia: prospective, case-control study
CONCLUSIONS: There may be changes in the systolic and diastolic cardiac functions of the fetuses of pregnant women with IDA. This study showed an increased E/E' ratio in the fetuses of pregnant women with IDA, suggesting a decrease in fetal heart maturation. Within the IDA group, fetal cardiac functions were more affected in those with severe anemia. This article is protected by copyright. Timing of induction of labor in suspected macrosomia: retrospective cohort study, systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Timing of IOL in patients with suspected macrosomia significantly impacts perinatal adverse outcomes. IOL has no impact on rates of SD but does increase CD when considered irrespective of gestational age, but it may decrease the risk of SD without increasing the risk of other adverse maternal outcomes, in particular cesarean section when performed before 40+0 WG. Implementation of sonopartogram: multicenter feasibility study
CONCLUSIONS: Comprehensive transabdominal and transperineal ultrasound assessment can be successfully used to assess progress in labor and can reduce the level of pain experienced during examination. Ultrasound assessment may be able to replace some transabdominal and VE examinations during labor. This article is protected by copyright.
