Sensor-guided transcatheter aortic valve replacement
CONCLUSIONS: SavvyWire was safe, effective, and functional for live transvalvular hemodynamic evaluation and rapid pacing during TAVR procedures. More studies with larger sample sizes and comparison against different wires and gradient measurement methods are warranted.PMID:38335504 | DOI:10.25270/jic/23.00242 (Source: The Journal of Invasive Cardiology)

Platelet Fc γRIIa expression in patients with stable coronary artery disease
CONCLUSIONS: Compared to patients with MI, patients with stable CAD had, on average, lower platelet FcɣRIIa. However, the range of platelet FcɣRIIa was similar to that seen in patients with MI. These results support future studies designed to assess the prognostic implications of platelet FcɣRIIa in patients with stable CAD.PMID:38335505 | DOI:10.25270/jic/23.00247 (Source: The Journal of Invasive Cardiology)

Safety and feasibility of a novel total percutaneous post-closure technique after bedside Impella decannulation in patients with cardiogenic shock
CONCLUSIONS: Bedside post-closure using the Perclose ProGlide device is a safe and feasible alternative to manual compression and surgical removal of the Impella device with low bleeding or vascular complications rates.PMID:38335506 | DOI:10.25270/jic/23.00255 (Source: The Journal of Invasive Cardiology)

Sex differences in the well-being of interventional cardiologists
J Invasive Cardiol. 2024 Feb;36(2). doi: 10.25270/jic/22.00151.ABSTRACTSeveral studies suggest differences in burnout and coping mechanisms between female and male physicians. We conducted an international, online survey exploring sex-based differences in the well-being of interventional cardiologists. Of 1251 participants, 121 (9.7%) were women. Compared with men, women were more likely to be single and under 50 years old, and they asked more often for development opportunities and better communication with administration. Overall burnout was similar between women and men, but women interventional cardiology attendings we...
