Explantation of Durable Ventricular Assist Device for Myocardial Functional Recovery in Children: A Report from The Action Registry
Purpose: Ventricular assist device (VAD) explantation following myocardial functional recovery (MFR) remains rare in both adults and children. We aim to study the characteristics and outcomes of durable VAD explantation following MFR in children from the Advanced Cardiac Therapies Improving Outcomes Network (ACTION) registry. Derivation and Validation of a Multicenter Model to Identify Candidates for Advanced HF Therapies with High Potential to Achieve Post-LVAD Reverse Cardiac Remodeling
Purpose: We sought to develop and validate a predictive personalized tool to identify candidates for advanced HF therapies with a high potential to achieve significant improvement in myocardial structure and function post-LVAD. This tool can aid clinicians and patients considering advanced HF therapies options. (Source: The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation)

Defining Optimal Criteria for LVAD Weaning in HF Patients with an Improvement in Cardiac Structure and Function: A VAD Wean Registry Analysis
Purpose: Mechanical circulatory support can result in a continuum of reverse cardiac remodeling. Stringent criteria for LVAD discontinuation, are not universally applied, and patients frequently have device support discontinued after a complication. The purpose of this analysis is to describe long-term outcomes after LVAD weaning based on degree of reverse remodeling. (Source: The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation)

Myocardial Functional Improvement is Associated with Improved HF-Related Outcomes in Patients While on Durable LVAD: An STS INTERMACS Analysis
Purpose: Chronic HF patients with reduced ejection fraction can experience cardiac structural and functional improvement in response to guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) and this has been associated with better outcomes. A subset of advanced HF patients on LVAD support and GDMT can also experience cardiac structural and functional improvement. Using a large multicenter dataset we sought to investigate how the improved cardiac function affected HF-related outcomes while on durable LVAD. Survival in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) for 669 Patients Treated with Selexipag in Clinical Practice: Insights from EXPOSURE
Purpose: Evaluating treatment effect on survival in PAH is challenging. The rare and progressive nature of PAH precludes powered evaluation and, as treatment choice is not random, raw comparisons can lead to misinterpretation. With more than 2000 patients, EXPOSURE has sufficient power to perform a comparative analysis by applying propensity score methods, between treatment with selexipag vs other PAH therapy. Impact of Preoperative Body Mass Index on Long-Term Survival and Functional Outcomes After Pulmonary Endarterectomy: Results from the UK National Cohort
Purpose: Previous studies have demonstrated the safety of pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) in all body mass index (BMI) strata. However, long-term survival and patient-reported quality of life outcome measures by BMI strata remain unknown. We sought to examine the effect of preoperative BMI on long-term survival, quality of life, and functional outcomes for patients undergoing PEA for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. The Landscape of Referral for Lung Transplantation in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: A Report From the Phar
Purpose: The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation recommends early referral for lung transplantation in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), including referral at initiation of parenteral prostacyclin. We sought to use the Pulmonary Hypertension Association Registry (PHAR) to describe the current landscape of referrals for transplantation in patients with PAH. Evaluation of Seralutinib Treatment Effect Across Four Risk Tools in the TORREY Study in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)
Purpose: Several risk stratification tools may be used to estimate the risk of adverse outcomes, monitor disease progression, and inform treatment decision-making in PAH. In TORREY, a randomized placebo-controlled phase 2 study, the tyrosine kinase inhibitor seralutinib met its primary endpoint of reduction in pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) at 24 weeks (NCT04456998). A post-hoc exploratory analysis evaluated changes in REVEAL 2.0, REVEAL Lite 2, COMPERA 2.0 and Non-Invasive French risk tools with treatment. (Source: The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation)
