Hypothyroidism and Type D Personality: Results From E-MPATHY, a Cross-sectional International Online Patient Survey
DISCUSSION: Our study found a high prevalence of type D personality among people with hypothyroidism who responded to the survey. Type D personality may be an important determinant of dissatisfaction with treatment and care among people with hypothyroidism. Our findings require independent confirmation. Close collaboration between the disciplines of thyroidology and psychology is likely to be key in progressing our understanding in this area.PMID:38591918 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae140 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

Air pollution and diabetes mellitus: Association and validation in a desert area in China
CONCLUSIONS: Our study provides robust evidence of a correlation between prolonged exposure to air pollution and the prevalence of DM among individuals living in the desert-adjacent areas. This research contributes to the expanding knowledge on the relationship between air pollution exposure and DM prevalence in desert-adjacent areas.PMID:38593183 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae219 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

Approach to the Patient Navigating Body Mass Index Requirements for Gender-Affirming Surgery
J Clin Endocrinol Metab. 2024 Apr 8:dgae193. doi: 10.1210/clinem/dgae193. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTBody mass index (BMI) requirements for gender-affirming surgeries (GAS) present an obstacle to gender transition for many transgender and gender diverse (TGD) people.
