Prevalence of Dysbetalipoproteinemia in the UK Biobank According to Different Diagnostic Criteria
CONCLUSION: This study reported for the first time the prevalence of DBL in the UK Biobank according to genetic ancestry. Furthermore, we provided the first external validation of different diagnostic criteria for DBL in a large population-based cohort and highlighted the fact that these criteria should not be used to diagnose DBL alone but should rather be used as a first screening step to determine which individuals may benefit from genetic testing to confirm the diagnosis.PMID:38625929 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae259 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

Clinicopathological and Molecular Profile of Sellar Neurocytoma
CONCLUSIONS: Hyponatremia is the dominant clinical features of SN. Preoperative imaging suggests that growth toward the dorsal region is the imaging feature of SN. SSTR2 expression and LMCD1-AS1:GRM7-AS1 fusion gene event expected to become a new molecular marker for SN. Somatostatin receptor ligand therapy may be a potential therapy for SN.PMID:38626164 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae260 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

Plasma proteomics of diabetic kidney disease among Asians with younger-onset type 2 diabetes
CONCLUSION: Large-scale proteomic analysis identified novel proteomic biomarkers for DKD progression in YT2D. Genetic evidence suggest a causal role of plasma angiogenin in DKD progression.PMID:38626182 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae266 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

The spectrum of growth hormone excess in Carney complex and genotype-phenotype correlations
CONCLUSION: Dysregulation of GH secretion is a common finding in CNC. The clinical spectrum of this disorder and its association with genetic and imaging characteristics of the patient make prompt diagnosis and management more successful.PMID:38626285 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae253 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

Characterization of 35 novel NR5A1/SF-1 variants identified in individuals with atypical sexual development: The SF1next study
CONCLUSIONS: Genetic analyses and functional assays do not explain the observed wide phenotype of individuals with these novel NR5A1/SF-1 variants. In nine individuals, additional likely disease-causing variants in other genes were found, strengthening the hypothesis that the broad phenotype of DSD associated with NR5A1/SF-1 variants may be caused by an oligogenic mechanism.PMID:38623954 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae251 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

Regulation of the Function of T Follicular Helper Cells and B Cells in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus by the OX40/OX40L Axis
CONCLUSIONS: The peripheral Tfh cells proportion increased and the OX40 expression in peripheral Tfh cells was upregulated in patients with T1DM versus patients with T2DM. OX40/OX40L signaling enhanced the Tfh-cell function to assist B-cell differentiation, which may contribute to the pathogenesis of T1DM.PMID:38625053 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae248 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

Association between maternal fasting glucose levels throughout pregnancy and preschoolers' refractive errors
CONCLUSIONS: High level of fasting plasma glucose trajectories during pregnancy has been observed to be associated with 6-year-old children's refractive error, hypermetropia and astigmatism. The first and the second trimesters may be critical periods for the effects of maternal blood glucose on children's vision. The long-term effect of maternal glucose metabolism on children's visual development deserves further study.PMID:38625056 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae247 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

Genetic Susceptibility, Mendelian randomization and Nomogram Model Construction of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus
CONCLUSION: Functional polymorphisms can change women's susceptibility to GDM and the predictive nomogram model based on genetic and environmental factors can effectively distinguish individuals with different GDM risks in early stages of pregnancy.PMID:38625888 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae200 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)
