Effects of Mindfulness-Based Interventions on Cardiometabolic-Related Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSIONS: Mitigating cardiovascular and cardiometabolic risk-associated adverse pregnancy outcomes through mindfulness-based approaches may represent an emerging field of study. The few studies and limited, mixed findings synthesized in this review indicate that high-validity studies are warranted to examine the effects of mindfulness-based interventions on pregnancy complications that contribute to cardiovascular-related maternal morbidity and suboptimal life course health for diverse birthing persons.PMID:37878581 | DOI:10.1097/JCN.0000000000001054 (Source: The Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing)

Use of Human-Centered Design Methodology to Develop a Digital Toolkit to Optimize Heart Failure Guideline-Directed Medical Therapy
CONCLUSIONS: The clinician, patient, and caregiver insights identified through human-centered design will inform a digital toolkit aimed at optimizing HF GDMTs, including a patient-facing smartphone application and clinician dashboard. This digital toolkit will be evaluated in a multicenter, clinical trial.PMID:37855732 | DOI:10.1097/JCN.0000000000001051 (Source: The Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing)

A Biomarker of Stress and Self-reported Caregiving Distress Predict Poor Quality of Life in Family Caregivers of Patients With Heart Failure
CONCLUSIONS: Serum cortisol and self-reported caregiving distress have similar predictability for quality of life in family caregivers of patients with heart failure. Reducing stress and caregiving distress is critical to improving quality of life in this population.PMID:37830903 | DOI:10.1097/JCN.0000000000001050 (Source: The Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing)

Mediation by Fatalism of the Association Between Symptom Burden and Self-care Management in Patients With Heart Failure
CONCLUSION: Symptom burden, not directly associated with SCM, is associated through the mediator of fatalism. Interventions to improve SCM should include strategies to mitigate fatalistic views. Self-care management interventions should focus on promoting internal locus of control or increasing perceptions of perceived control to decrease fatalism and improve engagement in self-care.PMID:37830904 | DOI:10.1097/JCN.0000000000001053 (Source: The Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing)
