Adverse childhood experiences in mental health of young adults: An exploratory study from Delhi-NCR, India
CONCLUSIONS: The present study revealed the detrimental impact of ACEs on mental health outcomes among young adults of Delhi-NCR, India, and underscored the relevance of ACEs in the Indian context. Considering the lack of trauma awareness in Indian societies, there is an urgent need to create widespread awareness regarding ACEs and associated health implications.PMID:38063051 | DOI:10.1177/00207640231214986 (Source: The International Journal of Social Psychiatry)

Hope, resilience and subjective happiness among general population of Paraguay in the post COVID-19 pandemic
CONCLUSIONS: This large survey has shown that most of participants reported a flourishing mental health with high ratings at hope, resilience, and subjective happiness scales. Also, the main sources of stress were economic issues, not consequently related to the pandemic. This may add evidences to the international debate on the long term effects of the global pandemic and probably suggests that recovery processes have been collectively adopted in Paraguay.PMID:38059364 | DOI:10.1177/00207640231216342 (Source: The International Journal of Social Psychiatry)

Positivity, daily time use, mood, and functioning in patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders: Results from the diapason multicentric study
CONCLUSION: People with SSD exhibited comparable levels of POS to the normative sample. Higher POS was linked to better functioning, QoL, fewer severe symptoms, and increased positive emotions. However, it did not relate to increased productivity or engagement in leisure activities. Further research is needed to understand the relationship between POS and time use in individuals with SSD.PMID:38054430 | DOI:10.1177/00207640231212868 (Source: The International Journal of Social Psychiatry)

Decomposition analysis of the difference in depressive symptoms between urban and rural employed people in China: Unpaid work plays an important role
CONCLUSION: This study found that the proportion of depressive symptoms was lower among urban employed residents than among rural employed residents. This difference was mainly caused by unpaid labor time, socioeconomic status, personal lifestyle, and health status. Housework, which is one of the unpaid labor, contributed to this depressive symptom difference in the third place.PMID:38050334 | DOI:10.1177/00207640231212091 (Source: The International Journal of Social Psychiatry)

Strength-based cognitive-behavioural therapy and peer-to-peer support in the recovery process for people with schizophrenia: A randomised control trial
CONCLUSION: This rigorously designed study provides the first few solid empirical evidence on the effectiveness of SBCBT and PSP in recovery from schizophrenia and provides initial evidence of the linkage between dysfunctional cognition, hope and recovery in schizophrenia.PMID:38032017 | DOI:10.1177/00207640231212096 (Source: The International Journal of Social Psychiatry)
