The anatomy of COVID-19-related conspiracy beliefs: Exploring their nomological network on a nationally representative sample
DISCUSSION: Conspiratorial thinking tendencies-related to health-related behaviour such as vaccination-appear to be, to a considerable extent, manifestations of the mechanisms that are part of our stable, broad, trait-like thinking/emotional/motivational/behavioural tendencies, primarily proneness to psychotic-like experiences & behaviours.PMID:37394900 | DOI:10.1111/bjc.12431 (Source: The British Journal of Clinical Psychology)

Self-compassion as a mediator of the relationship between childhood sexual abuse and psychotic symptoms in clinical and non-clinical groups
CONCLUSIONS: This is the first study to show that self-compassion mediates the link between CSA and both paranoia and psychotic symptoms in adulthood. Self-compassion may therefore be an important transdiagnostic candidate target in therapy to mitigate the impact of early adversity on paranoia in both clinical and non-clinical groups. Limitations include the small clinical sample and inclusion of a cannabis-using non-clinical sample, though recent cannabis use did not impact self-compassion levels.PMID:37382313 | DOI:10.1111/bjc.12429 (Source: The British Journal of Clinical Psychology)

Attachment-focused iMAgery therapy for PSychosis (A-iMAPS): A case series targeting psychosis-related trauma
CONCLUSIONS: This study shows that a brief attachment-focused imagery therapy is a promising intervention for targeting psychosis-related trauma, for which there are currently no other specific intervention studies. Utilizing an attachment-informed framework when working with trauma in psychosis should be considered in future intervention studies.PMID:37357531 | DOI:10.1111/bjc.12433 (Source: The British Journal of Clinical Psychology)
