Talanta. 2024 Apr 4;274:126026. doi: 10.1016/j.talanta.2024.126026. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTracking the variation of Cl- timely within the crevice is of great significance for comprehending the dynamic mechanism of crevice corrosion. The reported chloride ion selective electrodes are difficult to realize the long-time Cl- detection inside the confined crevice, due to their millimeter size or a relative limited lifespan. For this purpose, an Ag/AgCl ultra-micro sensor (UMS) with a radius of 12.5 μm was fabricated and optimized using laser drawing and electrodeposition techniques. Results show the AgCl film's structu...

Synthesis of a COF-on-MOF hybrid nanomaterial for enhanced colorimetric biosensing
Talanta. 2024 Apr 7;274:126071. doi: 10.1016/j.talanta.2024.126071. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe construction of hybrid materials is significant for the exploration of functionalities in colorimetric biosensing due to its structural designability and synergy effects. In this work, a COF-on-MOF hybrid nanomaterial has been newly synthesized for colorimetric biosensing. Experimental results reveal that on-surface synthesis of COF on MOF brings nanoscale proximity between COF and MOF, which exhibits more than two folds of peroxidase-like activity as compared to single Fe-MOF. Therefore, by using the MCA@Fe-MOF nanomateri...

Integration and holistic analysis of multiple multidimensional soil data sets
We present a statistical workflow designed to effectively analyse complex, multidimensional systems, even in the presence of confounding variables. The developed methodology involves exploratory analysis to identify the presence of confounding variables, followed by data decomposition (including strategies for both compositional and non-compositional quantitative data) to minimise the influence of these confounding factors such as sampling site/location. These data processing methods then allow for common patterns to be highlighted in the data, including the identification of biomarkers and determination of non-trivial ass...
