Intrauterine fetal death caused by seatbelt injury
We describe a case in which fetal death occurred due to relatively mild seatbelt injuries and present the characteristic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of the placenta. (Source: Taiwanese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Benign metastasizing leiomyomas thought to be nodal metastases in  a case of ovarian cancer
Uterine leiomyomas are the most common gynecologic tumors in women of reproductive age and represent the most common indication for hysterectomy in premenopausal women. In rare instances, these tumors occur outside of the uterine corpus and are referred to as ‘benign metastasizing leiomyomas’ (BMLs) [1]. (Source: Taiwanese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Prenatal diagnosis and molecular cytogenetic characterization of mosaicism for a small supernumerary marker chromosome derived from chromosome 21
A 34-year-old woman, primigravid underwent amniocentesis at 18 weeks of gestation because of advanced maternal age. Amniocentesis revealed a karyotype of 47,XY,+mar[8]/46,XY[16]. Among 24 colonies of cultured amniocytes, eight colonies had a karyotype of 47,XY,+mar, while the rest 16 colonies had a karyotype of 46,XY. The small supernumerary marker chromosome (sSMC) was bisatellited (Fig.  1). The parental karyotypes were normal. Array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH) analysis on the DNA extracted from cultured amniocytes by Roche ISCA Plus Cytogenetic Array (Roche NimbleGen, Madison, WI, USA) revealed no genomic ...

Prenatal diagnosis of mosaicism for trisomy 2 in a single colony at amniocentesis in a pregnancy with a favorable outcome
A 36-year-old, gravida 3, para 1, woman underwent amniocentesis at 18 weeks of gestation because of advanced maternal age. Cytogenetic analysis of the cultured amniocytes revealed a karyotype of 47,XY,+2[1]/46,XY[21]. Among 22 colonies of cultured amniocytes, one colony had three cells, and all cells of this colony had the karyotype of 47,XY,+2, whereas the other 21 colonies had the karyotype of 46,XY. Level II ultrasound findings were unremarkable. Repeat amniocentesis was performed at 23 weeks of gestation. (Source: Taiwanese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Congenital sick sinus syndrome: Prenatal diagnosis and postnatal follow-up
Congenital sick sinus syndrome (CSSS) is primarily a disease of the elderly, however, it is also seen in the fetus, infant, and child without heart disease or other contributing factors [1,2]. (Source: Taiwanese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Reply to “Need for an up to date and comprehensive risk factor analysis to determine the lifetime risk of uterine corpus cancer in Taiwan women”
We thank Wijayabahu AT for her comments on our article [1]. Our study was based on the Taiwan Cancer Registry (TCR), which was established by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 1979 to estimate cancer incidence among all civilian residents in Taiwan. TCR is an online, publicly accessible aggregate dataset, which collects newly diagnosed cases of cancer on an annual basis. Although we understand Wijayabahu's concern regarding the need to include the most current data (2011 –2016), the most updated TCR annual report was released for the year 2012 at the time of our submission on 28 August 2015 and acceptance on 18 Sept...

The rules of computerized cardiotocography and middle cerebral artery for diagnosis of fetomaternal hemorrhage
I read with an interest the comment by Dr. Cozzoline [1] suggesting the importance of fetal computerized cardiotocography (CTG) and cerebral Doppler evaluation for the patients of fetomaternal hemorrhage with decreased fetal movements. The usefulness of fetal cerebral Doppler has been well-reviewed in cases of massive fetomaternal hemorrhage suggested by Dr. Cozzoline; however, I am afraid the limitations of fetal cerebral Doppler evaluation in the early staged fetomaternal hemorrhage. Aortic balloon occlusion: Justifiable for placenta previa without accreta?
Luo et  al. [1] performed “preset” “prophylactic” intra-operative aortic balloon occlusion (IABO) in 43 patients preoperatively diagnosed with major placenta previa (PP) “and/or” abnormally invasive placenta (AIP: accreta, increta, percreta). The uterus was preserved in 88% of the patients, wi th median intra-operative blood loss of 500 mL, providing promising data. However, I have a concern. Need for an up to date and comprehensive risk factor analysis to determine the lifetime risk of uterine corpus cancer in Taiwan women
In this issue of the Journal, Lai et  al. [1] report on the incidence and lifetime risk of uterine corpus cancer from 1991 to 2010. Although the study meets its purpose, it would be more informative to include current data from 2011 to 2016, and also a retrospective analysis of risk factors authors described to be associated with the uterine corpus cancer. Especially, since studies evaluating multiple risk factors for uterine corpus cancer in Taiwan are scarce. (Source: Taiwanese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology)

Ex utero intrapartum treatment for extremely low birth-weight neonates requiring resuscitation at birth
Difficulties often encountered during intubation in extremely low birth-weight (ELBW) neonates requiring resuscitation at birth because of the smaller airway and the pressure from the limited number of attempts before hemodynamic instability occurs. An intrauterine fetal death due to horizontal uterine synechia
A 41-year-old gravida 2, para 0 woman was referred to our fetal treatment clinic at 22+6 gestational weeks for evaluation of an amniotic band, but actually it was an intrauterine horizontal synechia with a constricted orifice. She had undergone dilatation and curettage twice, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, and laparoscopic myomectomies twice before her current pregnancy. Ultrasound showed a horizontal synechia band in the lower third of the uterus (Figure  1A). The amount of amniotic fluid was within normal range in both the upper and lower pockets.
