Advanced retinal imaging and applications for clinical practice: A consensus review
Imaging is an integral part of the evaluation and management of retinal disorders. Each imaging modality has its own unique capabilities and can show a different aspect or perspective of disease. Multimodal retinal imaging provides a wealth of substantive and insightful information; however, the integration of all this complex data can be overwhelming. We discuss the applications and the strengths and limitations of the many different retinal imaging tools that are approved for clinical use. These modalities include color fundus photography, widefield imaging, fundus autofluorescence, near infrared reflectance, optical coh...

Periorbital Necrotizing Fasciitis
Periorbital necrotizing fasciitis carries serious risks of loss of vision, eye, and life, and thus represents a true emergency. As such, clinicians must have an appropriate index of suspicion for necrotizing fasciitis, and, upon recognition, need to address the disease rapidly and thoroughly. I review the classic features, systemic implications, and management paradigms of necrotizing fasciitis in the hopes of improving outcomes. (Source: Survey of Ophthalmology)

Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality — Emerging Screening and Diagnostic Techniques in Ophthalmology: a Systematic Review
In healthcare, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) have been applied extensively for many purposes. Similar to other technologies such as telemedicine and artificial intelligence, VR and AR may improve clinical diagnosis and screening services in ophthalmology by alleviating current problems, including workforce shortage, diagnostic error, and underdiagnosis. In the past decade a number of studies and products have used VR and AR concepts to build clinical tests for ophthalmology, but comprehensive reviews on these studies are limited. Dupilumab-associated ocular manifestations: A review of clinical presentations and management
Dupilumab is a first-in-class biologic approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) for the treatment of multiple atopic diseases, including atopic dermatitis, asthma, and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis. Since gaining traction as an effective treatment modality, multiple reports have highlighted the many ocular side effects associated with dupilumab usage. These range from mild diseases such as conjunctivitis, dry eyes, and blepharitis, to more severe manifestations such as intraocular inflammation and cicatrising conjunctivitis. Escape from Prism
A 14-year-old boy with a history of shunted congenital hydrocephalus began having headaches with nausea and vomiting after transcontinental flights. He gradually developed horizontal diplopia indicative of mild bilateral sixth nerve palsy, without papilledema or ventriculomegaly. Intracranial pressure monitoring showed no signs of elevation. After he subsequently developed papilledema, surgical exploration showed shunt malfunction, and shunt replacement produced rapid resolution of symptoms. This case demonstrates the importance of relying on clinical history and neuro-ophthalmologic examination in patients with hydrocepha...

Comments on: The clinical and pathogenic spectrum of surgically-induced scleral necrosis
The improved understanding in Ruiz-Lozano and coworkers ’ review has demonstrated the different pathogenetic mechanisms leading to surgically-induced scleral necrosis (SISN) and clarified that early detection and aggressive management of its complications are crucial for a good visual outcome. We would like to make some comments.)3 (Source: Survey of Ophthalmology)

Letter to the Editor regarding “Pediatric uveitis: A comprehensive review” by Maleki et al
We have recently read with interest the article published in your journal “Pediatric uveitis: A comprehensive review” by Maleki and coauthors.1 It was an in-depth review on uveitis and was a pleasure to read. On the other hand, we would like to point out an inaccuracy regarding rituximab posology, despite the fact that we are pretty sure that it had been written by mi stake.
