Intramuscular neural distribution of the obturator internus muscle regarding injective treatment
ConclusionThe result suggests that botulinum neurotoxin should be delivered in the intrapelvic portion of the obturator internus muscle. As most of the extrapelvic portion of the obturator muscle is composed of a tendinous portion, it should be considered unsuitable as an injection site by medical professionals. Ulnar nerve neuropathy caused by pathologic ossification: a case report
ConclusionThis is a rare case of cubital tunnel syndrome caused by an accessory ossicle of traumatic origin. Simple bone extirpation with ulnar nerve release followed by anterior subcutaneous transposition is the recommended method of treatment. No report of congenital accessory bones causing ulnar nerve compression in the elbow exists in the literature. (Source: Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy)

Bilateral duplicated hypoplastic superior cerebellar arteries one of which originates from a full-type fetal posterior cerebral artery
ConclusionKnowledge of such a configuration of the posterior circulation and others is necessary before radiological and surgical procedures. It helps to understand hemodynamic events, and neurovascular conflicts, improve revascularization procedures, and avoid surgical arterial and nervous injuries. A nonbifurcating cervical carotid artery with a remnant of the proximal internal carotid artery that mimicked an aneurysm on magnetic resonance angiography
ConclusionThe configuration of the nonbifurcating cervical carotid artery lacks the proximal ECA; however, segmental agenesis of the proximal ICA forms this rare cervical arterial variation. The present case had remnants of the proximal ICA. We speculate that the ICA channel, except for the origin, was occluded after the development of EC-ICA anastomosis, and a nonbifurcating cervical carotid artery with a remnant of the ICA may have formed. Including our patient, only four cases have been reported in the relevant English-language literature. (Source: Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy)

Assessment of using ultrasonography to teach abdominal and cervical anatomy in French medical curricula
ConclusionThe results of this work suggest that the use of ultrasound makes a positive contribution to the teaching of anatomy. The students interviewed think this type of tutorial should be an integral part of the anatomy curriculum at our university. In addition, this type of instruction can serve to introduce the use of ultrasound itself in a practical learning setting. (Source: Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy)

The distal fibular perforating axial flap for lateral malleolus coverage: an anatomical description and surgical technique
ConclusionThis study showed the presence of fibular perforating arteries with a high reproducibility of their dissection. This anatomical description served as the basis for the description of a new distal fibular perforating flap. (Source: Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy)

Variation of the brachial artery emerging through an opening in the median nerve: a case report
AbstractThe median nerve maintains a close relationship with the brachial artery in the upper limb. Variability in the formation and distribution of upper extremity vessels is frequently encountered during donor body dissections or surgical procedures. This case presents a rare anatomical variation of the brachial artery emerging through an opening in the median nerve. The median nerve formed a small opening without the contribution from additional nerve roots and the remaining vasculature of the upper limb was otherwise normal. An abnormal arrangement of a neurovascular bundle in the arm can cause sensory and motor issues...

A morphological study on the sphenoid bone ligaments ’ ossification pattern
ConclusionsDetailed knowledge of the SB morphology and ligaments ’ ossification extent is essential to improve the technique of the FO percutaneous approach, and sellar approaches, to minimize complications. (Source: Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy)

Preoperative assessment of the individual anatomy of the superior petrosal vein complex using balanced fast field echo magnetic resonance imaging
ConclusionsIndividual SPVC variations are extensive. Good quality bFFE or equivalents are feasible for preoperative SPVC assessments. However, methods improving vascular visualization are recommended. (Source: Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy)

Combined cone-beam CT imaging and microsurgical dissection of cadaver specimens to study cerebral venous anatomy: a technical note
ConclusionTo our knowledge we describe the first preparation method which combines near-realistic microsurgical dissection of human heads with high-resolution 3D imaging of the cerebral venous system in the same specimens. (Source: Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy)

Morphological variations of the brachial artery and their clinical significance: a systematic review
ConclusionsThe clinical implications of the atypical arterial pattern within the upper limb are crucial during the angiography and surgical procedures so the variations affect the appropriate diagnosis and surgical intervention. Hence, the knowledge about the morphological variations of the brachial artery should be constantly broadened by radiologists and surgeons to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of the treatment process. Connection between medial dorsal cutaneous nerve and saphenous nerve: case report
ConclusionsIt is suggested that the case presented as an unusual SN variation, which may affect the success of local anesthesia in invasive procedures to the medial part of the foot and could be considered in the evaluation of sensory loss after anteromedial surgical approach to the ankle, should be included in the classification of the cutaneous innervation pattern of the foot. Anatomical proposal of local anesthesia injection for median nerve block in treating hyperhidrosis with botulinum neurotoxin
This study aims to propose a more efficient and less painful approach to nerve blocks for relief, by identifying optimal injection points to block the median nerve, thereby enhancing palmar hyperhidrosis treatment.MethodsThis study, involving 52 Korean cadaver arms (mean age 73.5  years), measured the location of the median nerve relative to the transverse line at the pisiform level to establish better nerve block injection sites.ResultsIn between the extensor carpi radialis and palmaris longus, the median nerve was located at an average distance of 47.39  ± 6.43 mm and 29.39 ± 6.43 mm from the transverse line...

Muscle interconnections in the anterior and posterior arm compartment: a cadaveric case series with possible clinical implications
ConclusionABs or musculoaponeurotic extensions may predispose to complications due to their potential compression on nerves and vessels. Clinicians should consider the possible existence of such bridging variants between muscles, in the differential diagnosis of a patient presenting with ischemia, edema, or MN palsy symptoms.
