Pulmonary rehabilitation and oropharyngeal exercises as an adjunct therapy in obstructive sleep apnea: a randomized controlled trial
It is well recognized that the most effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). Different treatment possibilities comprise surgery, mandibular advancement, pulmonary rehabilitation, and oropharyngeal and facial exercises (PR program). However, these treatments showed inconsistent results. The purpose of the study was to compare the short-term effects of CPAP and the combination of PR program with CPAP on OSA severity, ventilatory functions, and changes in body characteristics in a newly diagnosed patient. The prospective memory of patients with idiopathic REM sleep behavior disorder
Idiopathic rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) likely represents the prodromal stage of synucleinopathy. The present study was to investigate if there was prospective memory (PM) impairment and the relationship between different PM tasks and traditional cognitive tests in patients with iRBD. Differences between manual and automatic analysis in determining the severity of Obstructive Sleep Apnea using home sleep apnea testing
Home sleep apnea testing (HSAT) is a diagnostic measure for obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) in moderate/high risk patients. Some HSAT companies contain automatic analysis (AA). However, guidelines recommend manual analysis (MA) despite the weak evidence for this recommendation. (Source: Sleep Medicine)

Kleine-Levin syndrome: the contribution of PET scan and hydrogen breath test for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
A 13 year-old boy started to present recurrent episodes, lasting from 3 to 12 days, characterized by prolonged sleep time, megaphagia, derealization, mood depression, rudeness and hypersexual behaviour. Episodes occurred after infective diseases, moderate alcohol assumption or sleep deprivation, and were often heralded by terrifying visual hallucinations. Physical examination, blood tests, lumbar puncture, EEG, brain CT scan and MRI were normal. The patient arrived at our lab at the age of 15, during a relapse. (Source: Sleep Medicine)

The associations among objectively estimated sleep and obesity indicators in elementary schoolchildren
A negative linear association between sleep duration and obesity in children has been reported, but this has been predominantly based on subjective estimates of sleep duration and one indicator of obesity. This cross-sectional study aimed to examine the relationships among objectively measured sleep parameters and a range of obesity indicators in schoolchildren. (Source: Sleep Medicine)
