Elevated fibrinogen to pre-albumin ratio predicts mortality in peritoneal dialysis patients
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with a high FPR had increased all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. FPR is a potential prognostic indicator in PD patients.PMID:37247845 | DOI:10.1111/sdi.13159 (Source: Seminars in Dialysis)

Antecubital perforating vein stent-grafting for radiocephalic arteriovenous fistula recovery: A case report
This report presents a novel application of stent-grafts in salvaging a radio-cephalic arteriovenous fistula in an 84-year-old male to treat a single outflow path at the elbow through a stenosed antecubital perforating vein, after failed PTA. The vascular access remained patent 18 months after the procedure, with no need for additional treatments at this target lesion, even though a PTA was required for juxta-anastomotic stenosis. This report highlights a possible further use of covered stents in arteriovenous vascular accesses.PMID:37245998 | DOI:10.1111/sdi.13158 (Source: Seminars in Dialysis)

Association of incidence rate of spontaneous tendon rupture and renal bone disease in end-stage renal disease patients' cohort
CONCLUSION: Although rare, end-stage renal failure patients on dialysis with PTH > 600 pg/mL had high risk of tendon rupture and bony fracture. Parathyroidectomy might reduce the risk of tendon rupture and fracture with lowering ALP signifying reduction in bone turn over. Combined incidence rate of tendon rupture and fracture could be used to assess the control of hyperparathyroidism related issues in dialysis center.PMID:37170692 | DOI:10.1111/sdi.13145 (Source: Seminars in Dialysis)
