Opportunities and risks of advance directives : An appraisal of the practice in Germany after legal regulation in 2009
CONCLUSION: Preparing an AD requires a high level of information, consultation, and time, as well as regular review or adjustment of its content. These factors are often not considered, thus complicating implementation and reducing the value of living wills. Possible solutions to these problems or alternative concepts for different patient settings are discussed in this review.PMID:38165491 | DOI:10.1007/s00482-023-00771-0 (Source: Schmerz)

Short paths to diagnosis with artificial intelligence: systematic literature review on diagnostic decision support systems
CONCLUSION: DDSS currently still face a number of challenges, such as concerns about data protection and accuracy, and acceptance and awareness continue to be rather low. On the other hand, there is great potential for faster diagnosis, especially for rare diseases, which are easily overlooked due to their large number and the low awareness of them. The use of DDSS should therefore be carefully considered by doctors on a case-by-case basis.PMID:38165492 | DOI:10.1007/s00482-023-00777-8 (Source: Schmerz)

Do pain therapy patients benefit from their fellow patients? : A  retrospective observational study on the influence of the stage of pain management and therapy experience of fellow patients on the individual therapy success in an inpatient interdisciplinary multimodal pain therapy (IMPT)
CONCLUSION: Despite methodological limitations our results suggest that in patient groups of an IMST, patients with therapy experience and those with advanced cognitive behavioral methods for pain management should be combined with novices and patients who are still at the beginning of coping with the chronic pain disorder.PMID:38108893 | DOI:10.1007/s00482-023-00774-x (Source: Schmerz)
