Tofacitinib real-world experience in ulcerative colitis in Finland (FinTofUC): a retrospective non-interventional multicenter patient chart data study
CONCLUSIONS: In this real-world cohort, including a majority of bio-experienced UC patients, tofacitinib was effective in achieving steroid-free clinical remission in a third of the population at one year. A majority of patients in remission at week 16 were also in remission at one year. Results are in line with earlier published real-world studies. Registration: ClinicalTrials.gov NCT05082428.PMID:38156792 | DOI:10.1080/00365521.2023.2298361 (Source: Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology)

Timing of endoscopy in patients with elevated lactate levels and acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding; a retrospective comparative study
CONCLUSION: In conclusion, our findings support the recommendations of current guidelines to perform non-EE after sufficient resuscitation and management of comorbid illnesses.PMID:38149333 | DOI:10.1080/00365521.2023.2298355 (Source: Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology)

Exploring the role of gut microbiota in migraine risk: a two-sample Mendelian randomization study
CONCLUSION: According to our research, there is evidence showing that gut microbiota may be involved in migraine development, which suggested that a stool examination might be helpful to recognize those with a higher risk of migraine. Further mechanisms remained to be elucidated in future studies.PMID:38149430 | DOI:10.1080/00365521.2023.2298370 (Source: Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology)
