Diagnostic value of serum squamous cell carcinoma antigen and cytokeratin fragment antigen 21-1 for sinonasal inverted papilloma: an exploratory study
CONCLUSIONS: This study provides novel potential diagnostic tools for SNIP by demonstrating the use of serum SCCA and CYFRA 21-1 in the diagnosis of SNIP.PMID:38189590 | DOI:10.4193/RhinRhin23.325 (Source: Rhinology)

Enhanced phylogenetic insights into the microbiome of chronic rhinosinusitis through the novel application of long read 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing
CONCLUSIONS: ONT demonstrated superior resolution and culture correlations to NGS, but underestimated core sinonasal taxa. Future application and optimisation of this technology can advance our understanding of the sinonasal microenvironment.PMID:38165666 | DOI:10.4193/Rhin23.333 (Source: Rhinology)

MicroRNA-150-5P regulates Th1/Th2 cytokines expression levels by targeting EGR2 in allergic rhinitis
CONCLUSION: MiR-150-5p and its target gene EGR2 are involved in the development of AR, and DCs foster T-cell differentiation in peripheral blood of AR patients.PMID:38165680 | DOI:10.4193/Rhin23.223 (Source: Rhinology)

Continuous investigation of the nasal cycle over 48 hours
CONCLUSIONS: In the very first continuous 48-hour study on the nasal cycle, 100% of the subjects presented a nasal cycle. The LRFM method is the only one that offers the possibility to perform continuous measurements over a longer period during daily routine. The results of previous single-stage examination methods should thus be questioned.PMID:38088419 | DOI:10.4193/RhinRhin23.284 (Source: Rhinology)
