Use of pH reagent strips to verify gastric tube placement in newborns.

Related factors of the nursing diagnosis ineffective breathing pattern in an intensive care unit.

Translation, adaptation and validation of the Nurse-Work Instability Scale to Brazilian Portuguese.
Abstract OBJECTIVE: to translate, adapt and test the psychometric properties of the Brazilian Nurse-Work Instability Scale. METHOD: this was a methodological study following the translation steps: synthesis, back-translation, specialist´s committee, semantics analysis, pretest, and psychometric tests. Compassion fatigue among nurses working on an adult emergency and urgent care unit.
CONCLUSION: we found compassion fatigue, expressed in the large percentage of nurses with high levels of burnout and secondary traumatic stress. Fatigue is related to individual factors such as age, gender, job experience and leisure activities. Effect of infant stimulation on the adaptation to birth: a randomized trial.
CONCLUSION: the early stimulation is a therapy with bidirectional effect, because it has favorable effects on the person who administers it; promotes health and prevents illness in the process of adaptation to birth; especially in contexts of vulnerability. It is recommended its teaching to mothers and its application in the home environment. CONCLUSION: overweight and obesity were associated with male participants, high blood pressure, weight gain since the beginning of the course, altered waist circumference, no physical activity, eating more in stressful situations, and consumption of unhealthy foods.
