Improved diagnostic accuracy for myocardial perfusion imaging using artificial neural networks on different input variables including clinical and quantification data
ConclusionThe diagnostic accuracy of MPI could be improved by ANN, using clinical and quantification data.

Segmentation of gliomas in 18F-Fluorocholine PET/CT. A multiapproach study
ConclusionA great interobserver variability in the tumour segmentation was found.

Diagnostic impact of 18F-FDG PET/CT on the management of rare breast carcinomas: apocrine and neuroendocrine carcinomas
ConclusionsThe histopathological ABC subtype group showed different 18F-FDG uptake than the IDC group. Even if 18F-FDG uptake was lower in the PBNEC group than in the other groups, PET/CT showed and adequate performance in detecting primary tumors and metastases. The 18F-FDG PET/CT scan results may contribute to the initial staging and management of ABC and PBNEC patients.

Lymphoscintigraphy for the evaluation of limb lymphatic flow disorders: Report of technical procedural standards from an Italian Nuclear Medicine expert panel
Publication date: Available online 23 April 2019Source: Revista Española de Medicina Nuclear e Imagen Molecular (English Edition)Author(s): Marco Maccauro, Giuseppe Villa, Augusto Manzara, Giulia Anna Follacchio, Gianpiero Manca, Girolamo Tartaglione, Sotirios Chondrogiannis, Lucio Mango, Domenico RubelloAbstractLymphoscintigraphy represents the “gold standard” for diagnosis of lymphedema, but an important limitation is the lack of procedural standardization. The aim of this Italian expert panel was to provide a procedural standard for lymphoscintigraphy in the evaluation of lymphatic system disorders. Topic anaesthet...

PET/TC imaging with somatostatin analogues for the assessment of neuroendocrine tumours, initial experience
We present two of the first cases of SSA-PET/CT with 68Ga-edotreotide (SomaKit TOC®) performed in our centre. SSA-PET/CT was the test that finally determined the clinical management of both patients.

Role of 18F-FDG-PET/CT in establishing new clinical and therapeutic modalities in lung cancer. A short review
In conclusion, 18F-FDG PET/CT can be considered a highly accurate and reliable method for staging and re-staging lung cancer, and is highly effective in guiding personalised therapies.

Detection of epileptogenic focus with two new methods of processing of SPECT and PET cerebral images: PET-Analysis and PISCOM
We present the case of an 18-year-old male with epileptic seizures refractory to antiepileptic treatment. Magnetic resonance (MR) showed dysplasia in the posterior right insular cortex. Subtraction of ictal SPECT co-registered to MR (SISCOM) detected a focal increase of uptake in the left fronto-parietal cingulate cortex and 18F-FDG PET showed normal distribution of the radiotracer. The posterior right insula was resected with histopathological results of grade I ganglioglioma according to the World Health Organization classification. The patient made favourable post-surgical progress, and remains seizure-free after 5 years...
