Percentage of correct consonants (PCC) in hearing impaired children: a longitudinal study
Conclusion: the PCC index obtained and compared in two occasions, revealed improvement in all tasks after 12 months of speech therapy using aurioral approach. Improvement in oral production and frequency in therapy directly influenced the improvement of oral language development of these children. Improvement in oral language development of these children was directly influenced by compliance to the therapy. The age at hearing loss identification and the daily use of the devices did not influence the PCC indexes. (Source: Revista CEFAC)

The use of ICF in the monitoring of hearing and language development in children in their first year of life
Conclusions: the use of the ICF-CY allowed the expansion of the attention of health professionals and it can be used to monitor child development. The creation / adaptation of standardized assessment tools based on ICF favors its use in the clinical practice.
