[Scales for evaluation of the overload of caregivers of patients with Stroke].
The objective of the study was to evaluate the available productions in literature about scales to measure the overload of caregivers of patients with stroke. It was carried out a bibliographical revision in three databases: LILACS, CINAHL and SCOPUS. [Survival of women with breast cancer, of a city in the south of Brazil].
Abstract A retrospective cohort study was carried out aiming to evaluate the survival of 655 women with breast cancer, seen in the Single Health System, Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil. For the analysis of survival, the method of Kaplan-Meier and Cox model was applied. The survival according to the staging of women was significantly different in accordance with the results of the test of Log-rank Test. The rate of risk of instantaneous death between the stages I/II, I/III and I/IV was 3.26, 15.40 and 25.51, respectively. [Maternal perceptions about the birth of a premature child and care after discharge].
Abstract This is a qualitative study, which aimed to identify maternal perceptions on premature birth and care of the newborn during hospitalization and after discharge. [Risk factors for neonatal mortality in the city of Serra, EspĂ­rito Santo].
The objective was to analyze the risk factors associated with neonatal mortality in the city of Serra, ES. We studied non-concurrent cohort, using the technique of Linkage that relate the 32.275 live births with 273 neonatal deaths occurred in the period from 2001 to 2005, using data from SINASC and SIM. After adjustments in the logistic regression, factors associated with mortality were: uneducated mothers, maternal age 35 years old, born in a public hospital, no prenatal consultation, birth weight. [Profile of morbidity of children hospitalized in a public hospital: implications for Nursing].
Abstract One aimed to know the causes of hospitalization among children under five years in a public hospital in Paraná to subsidize nursing actions. [Cardiovascular risk factors in young adults of a city of the Brazilian Northeastern].
This study investigates the cardiovascular risk factors in young adults in the interior of northeastern Brazil. [Comparison of the techniques of measuring blood pressure in one and in two steps].
This study compared the use of the technique for measuring blood pressure in one step with the technique in two steps, recommended by the American Heart Association in 2005. Measurements were made by both techniques in fourteen adults, using mercury sphygmomanometer and a digital device. Through analysis of the data it was concluded that the technique in one step showed similar results to those obtained with the technique in two steps. [The family as the focus of nursing care in the hospital environment: an educational program].
The objective was to train nurses for the care of the family. The strategies adopted for teaching/learning focused on the Calgary Model of Assessment and Family Intervention, with a group of nurses from a general hospital located in the north of Portugal.
