Identification of sperm motility markers in bovine transition protein genes
ContentsTransition proteins (TNPs) are essential in chromatin condensation during spermiogenesis, and hence, they are the candidate genes for identifying sperm motility markers. Coding and in silico predicted promoter regions of these genes were investigated in crossbred and purebred cattle, and also, their mRNA quantification was done to explore its use as a diagnostic tool of infertility. PCR ‐SSCP analysis revealed two band patterns in fragment III ofTNP1 and fragment II ofTNP2 gene. Sequence analysis revealed a deletion of “G” nucleotide in 3′UTR region ofTNP1 and C>T SNP in intronic region ofTNP2 gene. Leas...

Evaluation of in vitro culture systems for goat preantral follicles using reused ovaries from reproductive biotechniques: an alternative to maximize the potential of reproduction
In conclusion, experiments employing the use of preantral follicles can be performed with success after the ovaries have been used for experiments with antral follicles. Moreover, the three ‐dimensional system with the addition of medium is recommended forin vitro culture of preantral follicles, since this system is more practical and financially feasible. This article is protected by copyright. Effects of melatonin on oocyte developmental competence and the role of melatonin receptor 1 in juvenile goats
In conclusion, we have showed that melatonin improves oocyte developmental competence in juvenile goats by reducing ROS levels and improving mitochondrial activity. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. (Source: Reproduction in Domestic Animals)

GnRH agonist deslorelin implant alters the progesterone release pattern during early pregnancy in gilts
In conclusion, abolishment of LH pulsatility did not affect the pulsatile pattern of P secretion but led to an unexpected overall increase in P on Day 21 of pregnancy; this effect was delayed and occurred 10 days after commencing treatment with the GnRH depot agonist. The elevation of P on Day 21 of pregnancy in the GnRHa group suggests either a reduced negative feedback effect or an increased autocrine response by the corpora lutea. This article is protected by copyright. A comparison of the uterine proteome of mares in estrus and diestrus
In conclusion, ten differentially abundant proteins were identified in the uterine flush fluid of mares in estrus and diestrus. Targeted studies on these proteins could elucidate their role in uterine defense mechanisms during estrous cycle in the mare. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Effect of EGF on expression and localization of maturation ‐promoting factor, mitogen‐activated protein kinase, p34cdc2 and cyclin B during different culture periods on in vitro maturation of canine oocytes
This study aimed to investigate the localization of MPF, MAPK, p34cdc2 and cyclin B1 proteins, before and after treatment with EGF during different moments of oocyte maturation. The ovaries obtained from 350 domestic dogs were aseptically isolated, immersed in physiological solution and transported at 4 °C. In the laboratory, the ovaries were sectioned for the release of cumulus–oocyte complexes. Cumulus–oocyte complexes were selected and divided into treatment groups with and without EGF and cultured for 24, 48 and 72 hr. Immunofluorescence was used for the detection and the localization of MAPK, MPF, p34cdc2 and cy...

Early luteal development in Santa In ês ewes superovulated with reduced doses of pFSH
In conclusion, the lowest dose of pFSH (100 mg) can be considered sufficient for an efficient superovulatory response in sheep, producing better CLs development dynamic in early luteal phase and ovarian blood perfusion and smaller number of PRCL than the traditional (200 mg) pFSH dose. This article is protected by copyright.
