Ultra structural observations of anti-leishmanial effects of new synthetic 3-imidazolylflavanoneson Leishmania majorusing scanning electron and atomic force microscopes.
CONCLUSION: Our results strongly confirm the Leishmania cell wall as a potent target for the new synthesized azole (IF-2). Accordingly, focus on membrane integrity and glycoconjugates of Leishmania parasite to design new therapeutic agents is recommended. Antibacterial activity of gold nanoparticles conjugated by aminoglycosides against A. baumannii isolates from burn patients.
CONCLUSION: our study showed that a combination of amikacin and gentamicin with Gnps has a significant antibacterial efficiency against clinical isolates of A. baumannii. Gnps can be used as extraordinary molecular carriers for the targeting, and delivery the of antibiotic molecules to the specific infection. Screening and potential of the incidence of resistance transfer among the multidrug and heavy metal resistant Gram negative isolates from hospital effluents of northern India.
Conclusion: We can recommend that the hospital water is heavily polluted with several types of antibiotics, toxic metals as well as the potentially hazardous bacterial flora because of their capacity to resist one or the other well known antibiotic and chemotherapeutic agents. These studies provide evidence that a wide variety of clinically important antibiotic and metal resistance genes are mobile within aquatic bacterial communities one step ahead of the above, we can envisage the alarming situation prevailing in our system and surrounding in the light of transmissible nature of R-plasmids. Short Antimicrobial Peptides.
CONCLUSION: Herein, we discussed the arsenal of short peptides and peptidomimetics starting from the smallest unit possible - a dipeptide to a decapeptide along with their activity profiles as antimicrobials. Recently, various SAMPs have paved their ways from in vitro studies to clinical trials, as evident from the most recent patent (EP1951194) on oral hygiene. This step by step growth of SAMPs has restored the hope in peptide-based therapeutics, which may prove an essential tool in eradicating antimicrobial resistance and tackling various microbial infections.
