Perturbations in human bile acid profiles following drug-induced liver injury investigated using semitargeted high-resolution mass spectrometry
CONCLUSION: An optimized chromatographic separation tailored to BAs of ranging polarities was combined with accurate mass measurements to investigate the effect that DILI has on their complex profiles and metabolism to a much wider extent than previously possible. The analysis of complex BA profiles enabled in-depth analysis of the BA metabolism perturbations in ALF, including certain metabolites related to patient outcomes.PMID:38469943 | DOI:10.1002/rcm.9731 (Source: Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry : RCM)

Metabolism of ADB-FUBIATA in zebrafish and pooled human liver microsomes investigated by liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry
CONCLUSION: Hydroxylated metabolites can be recommended as metabolic markers for ADB-FUBIATA because of the structural characteristics and high intensity. These metabolism characteristics of ADB-FUBIATA were useful for its further forensic or clinical related investigations.PMID:38456249 | DOI:10.1002/rcm.9730 (Source: Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry : RCM)

Identification and characterization of impurities in an insecticide, commercial chlorantraniliprole using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry
CONCLUSION: The quality and impurities of CAP, a popular insecticide, must be assessed and described for its efficacy and safety. In this study, four impurities of CAP were detected using HPLC and successfully characterized using LC-HRMS, LC-MS/MS, and NMR data. The method is useful for verifying the purity of CAP as well as helping in the identification of its possible impurities.PMID:38456250 | DOI:10.1002/rcm.9729 (Source: Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry : RCM)

A statistical approach to system suitability testing for mass spectrometry imaging
CONCLUSIONS: This study is the starting point for addressing an important issue and will undergo future development to improve the efficiency of the protocol. Ultimately, this work is the first of its kind and proposes this approach as a proof of concept to develop and implement universal QC/SST protocols for a variety of MSI platforms.PMID:38456255 | PMC:PMC10926995 | DOI:10.1002/rcm.9725 (Source: Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry : RCM)

A rapid method for the determination of stable hydrogen isotope ratios of acetic acid in vinegar
CONCLUSIONS: A rapid method was developed for identification of different sources of acetic acid. These different sources of acetic acid exhibited significant hydrogen isotope distribution characteristics. Additionally, it was observed that the carboxyl hydrogen of acetic acid exhibited facile exchange with water. In future investigations, we aim to mitigate this interference.PMID:38419561 | DOI:10.1002/rcm.9718 (Source: Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry : RCM)
