Identification and quantification of both isomers of hexahydrocannabinol, (9R)-hexahydrocannabinol and (9S)-hexahydrocannabinol, in three different matrices by mass spectrometry
CONCLUSION: This research contributes analytical insights into differentiating and simultaneously analyzing (9R)-HHC and (9S)-HHC, using widely applicable mass spectrometric methods. The study emphasizes the need for vigilance among toxicologists, as new semisynthetic cannabinoids continue to emerge in Europe, with potential health implications. The findings underscore the importance of reliable analytical methods for monitoring these compounds in forensic and clinical settings.PMID:38342829 | DOI:10.1002/rcm.9711 (Source: Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry : RCM)

Development and application of a multiple reaction monitoring method for the simultaneous quantification of sodium channels Na < sub > v < /sub > 1.1, Na < sub > v < /sub > 1.2, and Na < sub > v < /sub > 1.6 in solubilized membrane proteins from stable HEK293 cell lines, rodents, and human brain tissues
CONCLUSIONS: Multiple reaction monitoring was used to quantify sodium channels Nav 1.1, 1.2, and 1.6 expressed in stably transfected HEK293 cells and brain tissues from mice, rats, and humans. We found significant differences in the expression of these channels in mouse, rat, and human brains. Nav expression ranking among the three species was Nav 1.2 ≫ Nav 1.1 > Nav 1.6, with the human brain expressing much lower concentrations overall compared to rodent brain.PMID:38211346 | DOI:10.1002/rcm.9672 (Source: Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry : RCM)

A hydrogen isoscape for tracing the migration of herbivorous lepidopterans across the Afro-Palearctic range
CONCLUSION: The δ2 Hwing isoscape is applicable for tracing herbivorous lepidopteran insects that migrate across the Afro-Palearctic range but has limited geolocation potential in the Afro-tropics. The spatial analysis of uncertainty using high-resolution climatic data demonstrated that many African regions with highly variable evaporation rates and relative humidity have δ2 Hwing values that are less related to δ2 HGSP values. Increasing geolocation precision will require new modeling approaches using more time-specific environmental data and/or independent geolocation tools.PMID:38211347 | DOI:10.1002/rcm.9675 (Source...

Identification, characterisation and in silico ADMET prediction of ozenoxacin and its degradation products using high-performance liquid chromatography-photodiode array and liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight-tandem mass spectrometry
CONCLUSION: The drug was found to be stable in neutral, acidic, basic and oxidative degradation conditions with hydrogen peroxide. Liquid chromatography-electrospray ionisation-quadrupole time-of-flight-tandem mass spectrometry- was employed in positive ionisation mode to analyse both the drug and the mass of the identified DP. The mechanism and the pathway of mass fragmentation have been proposed. The developed method was accurate, repeatable, linear and selective for further research. The ADMET Predictor software was applied to predict the in silico toxicity of the drugs and its DPs as well as their physicochemical chara...
