The Role of Diaphragmatic Rapid Shallow Breathing Index and Maximum Inspiratory Pressure in Predicting Outcome of Weaning From Mechanical Ventilation
ConclusionD-RSBI is a new and promising tool that is superior to the traditional RSBI in predicting weaning outcome also MIP provides appreciated data with greater accuracy to assess inspiratory muscle strength and predicting weaning success in mechanically ventilated patients.Recommendations We could recommend the measurement of MIP and DRSBI as weaning predictors should be an integral part of evaluation of patients plan for weaning from MV. All intensivists should be acquitted with the use of U/S in the evaluation of diaphragmatic function. (Source: QJM)

A comparative Study between Tube Feeding versus Parenteral Nutrition in GIT Cancer Patients in ICU
ConclusionEnteral nutrition showed better results in comparison to parenteral nutrition regarding time to pass flatus, ICU stay, albumin after 7 days and albumin after 14 days. Both types of nutrition are equal statistically regarding complications and infection, mortality rate, post-operative weight after 7 days (kg) and weight after 14 days (kg). (Source: QJM)

Effect of Prenatal Administration of Retinoic Acid on Developing Spinal Cord of Albino Rats
Conclusionminimum and maximum doses of vitamin A in pregnant rats attributed to morphological changes in spinal cord of their young neonates and in long term follow up which was more obvious in maximum dose than low intake. Therefore, it might be assumed that neither minimum nor maximum dose could be used as a safe drug for their serious side effects on spinal cord morphology and consequently its functions. Evaluation of a novel Nano diagnostic assay for Assessing the Prevalence of Schistosoma haematobium Infection in Areas at Risk in Upper Egypt
ConclusionCombination of both clinical and epidemiological data in addition to sensitive diagnostic tools is essential for diagnosis. The present study as with other studies revealed that, IMB-ELISA based on gold nanoparticles provides more rapid and sensitive detection for SEA in urine samples of patient with active schistosomiasis. Simplicity and fast detection (10  min) are its main advantages. Moreover, its high sensitivity and specificity ensure its application with greater precision and rapid detection. Also, in addition, the prevalence of urinary schistosomiasis in these regions is considered relatively high requi...

Evaluation of Galdakao-modified Valdivia Position in Combined Simultaneous Access to Upper and Lower Urinary Tract Pathologies
ConclusionWe believe that GMSV provided a great versatility in the treatment for urolithiasis along the whole urinary tract, ante-retrograde access, treatment of uretero-ileal strictures in patients with urinary diversions or neobladders, missed double j stent, bilharizoma of the ureter and bladder mass involving the ureteric orifice. Also, the advantage provided by this approach to the surgeon, patient and anesthetist may lead to widespread adaptability of this technique in the management of complex urolithiasis. (Source: QJM)

Tamsulosin, versus Tamsulosin in combination with Solifenacin versus Tamsulosin in combination with Trospium chloride for treatment of Double-J stent-related symptoms
ConclusionThe study show that the combination of the tamsulosin 0.4  mg/day and the trospium chloride 20 mg twice /day are significantly superior to the tamsulosin 0.4 mg once alone / day and the combination of the tamsulosin 0.4 mg /day and the solifenacine 5 mg /day for the treatment of the LUTS in d.j stent cases except in the frecuncy the combination o f tamsulosin 0.4 mg/day and the solifenacine 5 mg/day are signicantly superior.
