Ultrasound Guided Quadratus Lumborum Block versus Transversus Abdominis Plane Block in Post-Operative Pain Management after Cesarean Section
ConclusionQuadratus lumborum block was the most effective technique in providing analgesia after cesarean section without associated hemodynamic instability in comparison to transversus abdominis plane block and even more time covering to rescue opioid. (Source: QJM)

Outcomes of Using Different Generations of Telescopic Intramedullary Nails in Lower Limbs in Management of Osteogenesis Imperfecta Patients. A Systematic Review
ConclusionFassier-Duval telescopic nail has good outcomes with the least complication rates and a promising generation of telescopic nail but needs a multicenter randomized control trials to conduct a level I evidence based on meta-analysis. (Source: QJM)

Surgical Modalities versus Conservative Treatment for Acute Injuries of Lateral Ligament of Ankle
Conclusion: Starting a physiotherapy programme as early as possible is essential to control pain and swelling, to improve and maintain the range of motion, and to minimize the risk of stiffness and muscle wasting, which are the two decisive factors which delay patients from returning to their normal activities. Regardless of severity, surgery for acute ankle sprain is not recommended anymore. (Source: QJM)

Surgical Outcomes and adverse effects for Minimally Invasive versus Open Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion
ConclusionMIS techniques for lumbar interbody fusion is a safe alternative for classic open procedures but due to the limited number of the included RCTs, more well-designed multicenter RCTs with larger sample sizes and long-term follow-up are still needed to compare the clinical efficacy and safety of both techniques. Arthrodesis of First Metatarsophalangeal Joint by Plate and Screws for Treatment of Hallux Rigidus (Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis)
ConclusionOur analysis showed that plate and screws fixation is effective techniques that can be used for first MTPJ arthrodesis in patients with hallux rigidus. We found that the screw and plate fixation has a significantly lower rate of nonunion compared with the screw alone, as reported by the literature. However, owing to the small group sizes and methodologic shortcomings, we were unable to identify the clinically superior fixation technique for first MTPJ arthrodesis arthrodesis. (Source: QJM)

Comparison of Surgical Outcomes between Cortical Bone Trajectory and Conventional Pedicle Screw Trajectory for Lumbar Degenerative Spondylolisthesis (systematic review of literature)
Conclusionthere is no widely accepted consensus regarding comparison of clinical outcomes and complications between the CBT and TT procedures. Generally, indications for CBT and TT are similar between most studies, especially for common pathologies resulting in spondylolisthesis. (Source: QJM)

Intra-Articular Injections of Platelet-Rich Plasma versus Hyaluronic Acid in Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis (Systematic Review and Meta-analysis)
ConclusionIntra-articular PRP injection is more effective in terms of pain relief and function improvement at short-term follow-up in the treatment of knee OA than HA, and there is no significant difference in the risk of adverse events between PRP and HA. A randomized controlled trial with larger group sizes is necessary to find the predictors of the response to PRP and HA intra-articular injection. (Source: QJM)

Endoprosthetic Proximal Femoral Hemiarthroplasty Versus Total Hip Endoprosthetic Reconstruction After Proximal Femoral Resections in Young Adults
ConclusionProximal femoral endoprosthesis has definitive benefits in the treatment of primary or metastatic tumors affecting the proximal femur. The implants tend to improve the function and quality of life of patients with metastatic disease and high-grade localized disease. It also provides them with a relatively pain-free limb with good functional capacity. With continuing advances in the surgical and oncological fields, there is a great potential for curative limb salvage surgery in the long term. Reconstruction with endoprosthetic Proximal femoral hemiarthroplasty after proximal femoral resection in young adults can c...

Early Complications of using Dual Mobility Cup in Total Hip Arthroplasty. A Systematic Review
ConclusionDual mobility THAs are a good alternative to traditional bearing surfaces with long survivorship and low rates of instability after primary and revision THA. The rate of complications which are unique to the procedure, including intraprosthetic dislocation, is relatively low and limited mainly to earlier designs. High-quality, prospective, comparative studies are needed to further evaluate the use of dual mobility in primary and revision THA. (Source: QJM)
